Probably because Jones can't catch the ball.Cameron Giles wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2019 7:53 am This thread is ignoring that John Brown is comfortably the #1 WR in Buffalo this season, with Cole Beasley behind him as the #2. Jones only had 18 targets in 5 games.

Re: The Duke: A Fantasy Darling?
Reminded me of Kelvin Benjamin/Devin Funchess while at Auburn (as D'haquille Williams IIRC).
Josh Allen has some Cam Newton to him as a thrower.
Bills HC was in Carolina when Cam/KB was a thing, and probably had some input when Buffalo traded for KB a few years back.
So maybe Duke plays a big slot/box-out body type role. I'll make a speculative add but not convinced he will amount to anything much long term.

Definitely worth a pickup, league & roster size dependant.
Update - Duke just went for $200 in 1 leagues waivers.

Re: The Duke: A Fantasy Darling?
Well I was surprised that I ended up with him in two of my FFPC leagues where no one else bid. My bids were low.
So I guess I'm on this hype train now. Choo choo!

I took a flier on him for $1 out of my $2000 budget. For that price maybe he amounts to a few good games and I can flip him for a late 2020 pick.

Re: The Duke: A Fantasy Darling?
McKenzie is a swiss army knife/gadget player most weeks. Agree with above, if Beasley is out, he would get more run. Foster is the guy who would be more relevant, and Duke really cut into that. Even if they are not in the same role, Brown, Beasley, Duke, Knox, RBs are already too many mouths to feed. Brown and Beasley are guaranteed their targets, the other few are tough to predict. I think Knox will be a solid TE2 or more by next year though.

Re: The Duke: A Fantasy Darling?
The thing is, Josh Allen isn't very good. I don't see any of these players mentioned as viable Dynasty players. Allen is well on his way to being exactly what most thought he was. An inaccurate, inept passer with a rocket arm who can makes some great throws but overall lacks the finer points of the position. His legs were the big surprise. Nobody saw his rushing ability coming, to the level it's been. Allen still has time to get better, but he's done nothing substantial to show that he's capable of supporting a strong passing offense. He does need a true number 1, but for now, I don't think Duke can be viewed as a viable FF stash. He's 26 years old, and has never done anything in the NFL, in fact he's taken this long to make it. It seems like a long shot at best. It seems the Bills will be a team that tries to run the ball, play good D, take a few shots down the field and have Allen scramble his way to sustain drives. I just don't see how a guy who's been in the CFL until now fits into that as someone who can be a "Fantasy darling", but I suppose stranger things have happened.
