whatever outcome, this was a fun game and SEA coaches are morons
Re: Week 5 Discussion
Might take Kupp over Julio due to age. I can see arguments for Cooper and Godwin over Kupp too...also can see argument for Kupp over JuJu at this point.

Re: Week 5 Discussion
Reallly wish my Cooks for Kupp trade 2 weeks ago had been accepted. Was told it was close but never got any further when I offered to add a bit on top.
Also to those saying that "now is a bad time to buy Kupp" last week...maybe it wasn't. Value ticked up today.
Feeling better about Gurley's TD upside and general usage, although he didn't have a lot of room today.

Re: Week 5 Discussion
I am 4-0 in a 14 team SF/TE premium, and was offered Kupp for a top 3ish pick and Herndon a few weeks ago. I declined. I am starting to wonder if I made the right move. Kupp is a really good receiver, but he's in an ideal siutuation, that's part of his draw. Swap him and Juju for instance, another topic of conversation, and I think the numbers look similar the other way around. Kupp is producing as a WR1, but I don't believe he's a transcendent type talent at the position. I think he is a very talented player, though.

Re: Week 5 Discussion
He's not transcendent like OBJ. He doesn't have a fit on the sidelines, doesn't like coke with his pizza (that we know), doesn't talk his way out of town, doesn't have good taste in wrist watches.

Re: Week 5 Discussion
LOL. I liked Kupp since I saw him play vs Oregon. Kupp is a good football player without the BS. BTW, OBJ hasn't been the guy he was his first few years in the league for a while now. I'm not so sure I wouldn't rather have Kupp over him, however my point was he's a not a Julio type, but he's damn good and in the best situation imaginable.perkinsrooster wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2019 9:28 pm He's not transcendent like OBJ. Re: Week 5 Discussion
As a buyer of Wes Welker ... I mean Cooper Kupp at the start of the season, I clearly advocate for his acceptance as a WR1. I agree he’s not a transcendent talent but you don’t really have to be for fantasy purposes (see Wes Welker’s stats). I play in a contract league and I will say that I’ll likely be a seller of Kupp at some point during his contract because I just don’t see 6+ years of the type of production we see now. #4yearwindow

Re: Week 5 Discussion
Goff has thrown 4 games worth of passes over the past two weeks. He's going to end up with his arm held together with duct tape Chad Pennington-style.

Re: Week 5 Discussion
Oh, I know you were. Thus, the LOL at the start of my comment. I thought it was pretty funny, actually. I actually did laugh out loud when I read it. I just wanted to add reasons why I like Kupp, despite not being a freak athlete or anything. BTW, Kupp is one of those guys who I really thought would be good coming out of college, but somehow never drafted. I'm stupid that way, sometimes.

Are the Rams trying to justify paying Goff or something with how much they are having him throw?

Re: Week 5 Discussion
For fantasy purposes, Kupp is absolutely a WR1 this season.
In real life? No. Not that Kupp hasn't shown good route running and been a very reliable receiver for this team, but he's helped out significantly by three things:
1. Brandin Cooks and Robert Woods play on the outside, taking away the defenses best coverage.
2. Kupp plays 75% of his snaps from the slot, often against weak coverage. Watch the TD from yesterday. Clean release, nobody is guarding him, and he just sits on the top of his route for an easy score.
3. Matt Harmon brought this up in Reception Perception, but Kupp has one of the most unique roles for a WR in the league.
- He never gets double teamed
- He rarely runs routes vs. press
- And he's almost always playing against zone coverage
I doubt some people will care, because points are points and Kupp is obviously a good player. But, there's no chance I'm putting him in the group as the league's elite WR's when he's rarely playing against man coverage and is a clear beneficiary of other WR's.
