Anyone drafting Sanders with the expectation of an immediate big impact was doing it wrong.

Montgomery on the otherhand, has had the opportunity and hasn't capitalised. I sold him off to a believer.

dlf_mikeh wrote: Sat Sep 28, 2019 8:20 am Do you remember Jonas Gray? In week 4 2014 he ran for a 200 yard 4 touchdown game for the Patriots. Everyone was tripping over themselves to acquire this kid. And then he disappeared, like so many other Patriots RBs before him. That's just one of many reasons why I don't trust the Pats.
Correct me if I’m wrong but was t Jonas gray cut a few days after that game? Something about bill saying his head got to big after that game and showed up to one of the meetings late. Then cut.
Correct, but if he really was this good, he wouldn't have been released. He was never that good to begin with, the Patriots knew that, and the NFL knew that because he never amounted to anything.
Oh yeah I agree he was never that good. And bill was proving a point to the other players that their system is what makes them the look good. And they could make any Rb they wanted get numbers like that in a game if they chose to do so. Don’t like it there’s the door 😂

I know this is a bit off topic and I know you do your installments of this report in the offseason, but do you have any early observations of the 2020 RB class?

Going to give a small shout-out to Ryquell Armstead. He wasn't a picture of health in camp or early in the season but sure looked good Sunday in relief of Fournette. He has the skill set to make it in this league.

He ran hard and did very well on his lone target for a TD. He is a legit cuff to Fournette with some long term upside. Fournette is looking good right now but his contract is up in 2020 and prior to this year had only started 21 of 32 games so Armstead is worth keeping an eye on. Thought he was a little underrated coming out and while he only has 10 carries they looked pretty good averaging 5.4.

Time will tell with him but if you own Fournette and have roster room he is looks to be worth a stash.

Agreed. Unfortunately he's one of those guys that's rostered in all my leagues, with owners that want a 2nd.

Nope. I watch some here and there, but 99% of my focus is on the NFL. I don't want to get into now because the hype sways my opinion.

I havent had time to watch Jacobs much. The box score in PPR hasnt been that great in some games, and it has been phenomenal in 2 so i havent been sure what to think of him. Your comments really help on evaluating him. Thank you.

He's on pace for over 1,600 yards from scrimmage and almost 13 TDs. His week-to-week floor hasn't been ideal because they tend to go away from him when trailing, but that's still a great rookie season (and he's had 2 and 3 receptions in each of the last two games after having 1 in the first 3 combined, which is promising).

Also...seriously look at the highlights of him against a Bears run D that held Aaron Jones to 13 carries for 39 yards and 0 TDs and Dalvin Cook to 14 carries for 35 yards and 1 TD (plus holding the Broncos and Redskins to 159 combined rushing yards and 0 TDs on 45 carries). His 24.3 fantasy points on the ground are more than all points from rushing yards/TDs by the Vikings (10), Broncos (9) and Packers (4.6) in 3 games (23.6).

With no pass catchers to speak of, I was sure they were finally going to utilize Jacobs more in the passing game..

No such luck.

Just want to point out that is not the same Bears defense that held Jones and Cook to those totals. Hicks went out early vs Oakland and Nichols didn't play at all. Vs the vikings the Bears had Kwitkowska in instead of Roquan, which most view as a downgrade, but Kwit is phenomenal against the run and terrible against the pass...Roquan has been somewhat bad vs both this year so that helped hold Cook in check. Add in the jet-lag which was clearly evident even if Nagy won't admit it and you have a Bears D that was not playing at a high level vs Oakland. Nothing against what Jacobs did (he played very well), but that game needs a big asterisk when comparing to how other RBs have been shut down by the Bears.
