Would you rather have Brees or Rivers as a contender in a 6 pt TD league?

On talent it is a push and Rivers is 3 years younger.

x2

I would go with Rivers though for the long term being the tiebreaker.

So close for this year that Rivers' age advantage makes it a easy decision in his favor for me.
Start: 2 QB, 3 RB, 5 WR, 2 TE (All TDs=6, 1 per 10 rush/rec, 1 per 25 pass, NO PPR) 8 teams
QB: Rodgers, Vick, Cutler, Schaub, Luck
RB: Rice, CJ, McFadden, Richardson, Stewart, Ingram, Spiller, Vereen
WR: Green, Marshall, Roddy, Jennings, Roddy, Bowe, Maclin, Britt, A Brown, Williams (TB), Collie, Smith (STL)
TE: Graham, Finley, F Davis, Cook
Taxi Squad: Tebow, Crabtree, Jeffrey, Hill, Gordon

Rivers is my clear choice for the same reasons mentioned. Seeing him continue to put up numbers as his weapons were dropping like flies solidified his elite status IMO.
12 Team|Non-PPR|16 man rosters|9 Keepers|$250 cap|QB, 2-4 RB, 2-4 WR, 1-2 TE
Salaries increase 20%/year in perpetuity

QB: A. Luck $22, RGIII $1
RB: T. Richardson $46, M. Ingram $21, A. Blue $1
WR: AJ Green $15, J. Jones $6, J. Maclin $9, Mi. Floyd $14, TY Hilton $3
TE: J. Reed $2

Rookies: C. Hyde $2, J. Hill $4, T. Mason $4, I. Crowell $1

It's pretty clear that Rivers has the advantage due to age, and the fact that both will score very close to each other.

If the OP doesn't mind, I want to address a question about Roethlisberger. He's 4 months younger, so about the same age.
He's a little behind Brees in scoring, but keeping in mind the 4 games he didn't play in (and the subsequent undervaluing) how would you compare him to Brees?
orphan rebuild- 3 superflex, nerfed QB scoring 0.5/1/1.5 wr/rb/te PPR
QB: Hurts, Dobbs, Lance, Huntley, Bagent
RB: Swift, Kamara, Sanders, K. Mitchell, Foreman, CEH, Dowdle, Demercado
WR: Lamb, AJB, DK, Hollywood, Jakobi, Lazard, Boyd, Shaheed, Douglas
TE: Chig, Juwan, Conklin, Taysom, Smythe
Picks: 3 2024 2nds

rebuild 2: 1QB PPR
QB: Richardson, Pickett, Mayfield
RB: Achane, E Mitchell, Demercado
WR: Chase, Addison, QJ, J Palmer, Wan'Dale, Claypool, Douglas, Metchie
TE: Kittle, Mayer, Otton, Ferguson
Picks: 3 2024 1sts, 2 2024 2nds

Thanks for the many feedbacks. I will stick to Rivers then.

You are welcome to start a Roethlisberger/Brees discussion. I believe they still belong to different tiers. I would put Ben in category with Romo, Ryan and Schaub.

I'll answer this

This comes down to a value calculation for me. I think Big Ben could be the most undervalued QB in fantasy and maybe a top-five undervalued player at any position. And I don't get it. My guess is that people still think of PIT as a running team which they are not. What it will cost to go get Brees vs. Ben isn't close. And it isn't worth the difference. Big Ben is a solid QB1 and a fantastic part of a a QBBC with others like Flacco, Cutler, Eli, etc.
