Dallas Goedart

Where do you guys rank this guy as a prospect?

I got back and forth on him. Obviously his situation is not ideal, although the eagles do use A LOT of 2 tight end sets.

But ertz is only 29 and pretty sure locked up for another year or 2

Goedart is from a very small school and doesn't exactly blow you away with measurables although I've heard his work ethic is 2nd to none. The draft capital is certainly there a mid range 2nd is no joke

Does he have "it" to join the tight end elites if ertz were to be dealt or injured? Or is there even enough balls for both to succeed?

EDIT: just looked up ertz deal. Signed a 5 year deal in 2016 with an out after this year. $12 mill in dead cap spread over 2 years though.

But after 2020 looks like they can walk very easily

I think TE1 is closer in his future than most people here figure. Ertz is pushing 30, has taken a lot of hits and more to the point - Goedert is making himself impossible to sit.

I'd be looking to sell Ertz if I owned anywhere.

It won’t be long until we say “Do you remember when we thought Ertz was better than goedert? Hahahahah”

I love Goedert and think it's only a matter of time until he's one of the top TEs in the league. I don’t think Ertz gets another contract in Philly, they'll finish out this one and let him walk.

Ertz is on his way out...but it's going to be a while still. Remember when everyone was wishing Gates would leave the chargers so Henry could be unlocked...it'll be like that.

So yes, I think he'll be great (potentially even a top 3 TE)...but prob not for two more seasons. Making DG is a long term play. Great buy if you have the patience.

Goedert is legit. I've watched him quite extensively as a Philly native. He has the "it" factor and is paired with a great young QB. He is very fast vs LBs and Safeties and has tremendous hands. The only downside is that he can sometimes expose himself to big hits since he's a big target. I'm trying to get him everywhere before he joins that Kelce/Kittle/Ertz tier. I think you have to be patient one or two year more though.

I think its certainly possible that next year Ertz is gone at which point Goedert can be a top 4 TE. Until then he's still a top 12 imo.

IMO, he'll put up top-12 numbers this year and is a top-4 dynasty TE.

Pants got tighter and tighter with each comment. Ive been sky high on him as well and have him in my 3 primary dynasty leagues.. But like others said gotta be patient.

So to everyone saying he's a top dynasty TE already, you'd have no issues paying a mid to late 2020 1st to get him?

I'm not willing to consider moving a 1 for any TE not named Kelce, Ertz, Kittle or Hockenson. I don’t have to though because I already own Goedert in the majority of my leagues, he is probably my most rostered player actually.

That's kind of why I started this thread

After the henry news I kind of panic bought him and jimmy graham for olsen and probably an early 2nd (13-16) range

I'm pretty happy to be honest I'm a patient man

I would like to think he could be had for less than that right now. Today he is still buried so that should impact his cost somewhat. Or at least we should be trying to buy for less than that if possible.

In the offseason, I traded 2 2nds for him (2.10 in 2019 and a 2020 2nd- probably late) for him and was happy with it. I’m also an Ertz owner, so I was happy to get Goedert.

I agree that you have to be patient with him, but I think he will be an elite TE down the road.

I recently bought him in my main league and like the talent, but I think Philly is a lot more likely to extend Ertz than people in this thread are leading on.
