My league pays out 2/3 of the buy in every year to the top 3 and every 4 years the other 1/3 goes into a big pot for 1st place. This is the 4th year so I am going all in for the championship.

Gave: Allen Robinson, 2020 1.03, and what should be a top 6 2021 pick

Got: Kamara & 2020 3.02

I really liked the idea of having the 1.03 AND the 1.04 in this draft, but I couldn't resist grabbing a top 5 RB without removing any one of my starters. Sets me up as the favorite for this year... but once playoffs hit, anything can happen.
12 Team-1QB 2RB 3WR 1TE 1FLX 1 PK 1 D/ST (30 man offseason rosters. Cut to 20 by week 1 / 0.5 PPR)

2023 2nd Place

QB: P. Mahomes, K. Cousins
RB: Bij. Robinson, K. Williams, D. Henry, N. Chubb, A. Gibson, C. Edwards-Helaire, L. Fournette
WR: J. Chase, C. Lamb, C. Ridley, M. Evans, D. Hopkins, B. Cooks, Z. Jones, T. Atwell, C. Austin III
TE: M. Andrews, C. Otton
PK: J. Tucker
D/ST: Streaming

Taxi:

2024 Picks: 1.01, 2.03, 3.07, 4.03
2025 Picks: 2nd, 4th
2026 Picks: 1st, 1st, 3rd, 4th

That's fair. That was my main hang-up with it but wanted to get my guy.
i won't argue with that!

Gave up Mason Rudolph, Big Ben and a late 3rd and 4th (which in a 16 teamer are guys that wouldn go undrafted in a 12 team rookie draft).

Obviously I'm trying to talk myself off the ledge.
I don't think its that bad. Sure Jameis sucks but you gave up a bunch of other garbage to get him.

And I know what its like to overpay for a QB.

I just sent Goff, Watkins amd a late 3rd and got back Rodgers and Pettis.

I hate the trade but couldnt stand Goff getting me negative points anymore

Yeah, well it's a matter of context Gurley is not a starter for me, he's my RB4 in a start 2, and he's not a top flex option for me, either. I am thinking it's downhill from here. He may have a decent game vs Arizona, but Gurley just isn't the same guy. I was convinced all off season he would be, but he's not. It's only going to get worse next year, IMO. I want Henderson for the future, and I also have Drake, so if he goes down, I expect DJ to get some sort of role again. DJ is under contract next year, and may bounce back a bit from his state right now. I have no picks next year, and I'd rather have a guy like Henderson for the future, and DJ as a dice roll next year. Todd Gurley won't fetch a first this off season. The reality is he'll be worth a 2nd round pick in all likelihood come draft time I am fine with it. I have a shot to win a title this year, and I like the 2 for 1 move for next year. Gurley was firmly planted on my bench, and that wasn't going to change. His value is shot, and I can't even trust him in my lineup down the stretch.

This would shock me. In a down year (bad O-line, limited touches) Gurley is still a top 15 rb. On pace for 1000+ YFS and double digit TDs. Is he the league winner he was? Nope. Can he remain a high end RB2 for the next few years? Easily. That's worth far more than a random 2nd.

I am well aware of the value he holds in that league. It won't be, in April. I was lucky to get this. I still like the package for my team and longer term outlook. I believe Henderson will be a factor next year.

The gentleman doth protest too much, methinks.

Somewhat poking fun at you, but also I am being sincere. I just don't understand panic selling a distressed asset RB because he is a has-been in your opinion, when you are trading for another has-been (except DJ hasn't been a real stud for 3.5 years), and a mid day-2 dart throw.
