he's a bit undersized, but his value in the return game should at least get him a roster spot and some regular reps. He's definitely an add, probably a 4th rounder.

Waldman has Pettis as his WR1.........take that for what it's worth.

I'd consider Pettis starting at like 2.04-2.07 if I had a strong team that could stash a guy for 2 years to see what happens.
My guess. Pettis becomes a better NFL player than a fantasy player. Someone who can do a lot on the field in different roles on offense and on special teams. They will probably be signing for/trading for/drafting a top tier X receiver in 2019.

I just found out that he’s Gary Pettis son, pretty cool, anyway, I agree with Hawkeye that I think he’ll probably be a better NFL player than fantasy player. Personally, I would take a chance on him in the 3rd, assuming there wasn’t a early 2nd round prospect that was still on the board.

High hopes? No. If Jimmy G pans out he should be serviceable in fantasy. I anticipate them drafting their true #1 in next year's loaded WR class.

He's a good talent and one of the better WRs from this draft but that's not saying much. WR3 potential, he knows how to get open and has a nice burst.

For some reason, Waldman's track record with WRs is spotty. He's generally much better with RBs.

I don't believe Pettis has the stuff to be a Pro Bowler in the NFL, but he has been drafted to a nice situation, and the Niners' front-office / coaching staff must be regarding him fairly highly right now if they were willing to spend the 44th pick on him. I think they reached, personally.

First thing Pettis has got to do is get in the gym and add 10-15lbs of muscle to improve his play-strength. If he can do that, then I think he has a shot to be a respectable #2/3 WR in the NFL.
