He’s the RB14 in the league I just checked on. Not where you hoped he’d be, but certainly not a cause for concern. I still think the Rams will hit their stride and he’ll pick up some steam in the back half of the season.

I'm fine with the usage so far. He's averaging 5.33ypc and dominating the team rush attempts. More concerning for me is the lack of production in the air. This week was a little more encouraging with 3 receptions..
Two weeks in I am actually relieved. They are still featuring him and with the increased focus placed on longevity, I think he will last a few more years in his role.

The fact that they are taking him out for entire drives & not using him situational is a red flag imo. It seems like there's something more there than just "saving him for the playoffs".

If you're an owner I think you're just stuck with him at this point. If he's your RB1, I would worry a little but you still have to start him... If he's on your RB2 spot, there are much worse options. I couldn't imagine many teams having 2 better options at RB so you're still starting him

Should it have been 157 all purpose yards and 2 TDS?
Well, if he had 2 legs naturally you'd just double the output.
Just imagine if he had the nickname 'Tripod'. 8-)
I wonder if his wife calls him that?

Gurley through 2 games is on pace for 240 carries. That's more than some were predicting about his touches. I think people who have Gurley on their FF team have to be happy with the touches he's getting. He hasn't even broken a play on a reception yet. I think the 4th quarter usage is a good sign, too. He is going to score FF points in the 4th quarter, if the first two games are any indication.

Yeah I think the primary worries about his usage are (a) he's not the dedicated goal line back, and (b) he hasn't done anything meaningful in the passing game yet.

Gurley 25 touches?

Postby khaos337 » Fri Sep 27, 2019 6:58 am

I read yesterday McVay said he would like to get Gurley 25 touches a game. Do you think this is attainable (and/or likely) and Gurley can get his stock back up a bit?

I do not see this happening. Gurley hasn't been very efficient outside of week 1, going all the way back to last year. Maybe he gets more receptions? No targets last week doesn't make much sense. I would be using Gurley in the pass game a lot more and then using Brown as the main carry rb, or at least 50 50

It's possible, but what McVay says publicly is about as useful as what Pete Carroll says publicly. Typically everything he says the exact opposite is done when the games roll around.

I am stashing Darrell Henderson in redraft just in case this is true.
Dynasty player since 2002.
I probably should have done something more productive with that time...

Hes the 3rd string :wall:

I'm not worried about Gurley rams in general look spent. Every team in the league has zero'd in on that offense as enemy number 1. Mcvays needs to re invent himself and prove he truly is great and wasnt just a fluke

The way teams defend them is completely different now after the Patriots game. The breakdown during the Cleveland game was really interesting on how teams are attacking that offense. McVay will need to adjust with them as well or he will quickly be a forgotten man. Will be interesting to see what happens moving forward.

The Rams are 9th in ppg at 26 and 3-0, so teams may be zeroing in on them but it’s not really working.

Considering they were scoring at a Chiefs' level before and their wins are against broken Cam's Carolina, a Brees-less Saints (with the help of another hilarious ref screwup), and a dysfunctional Cleveland team, it seems to be working somewhat.
