I think this is a situation like many others where leagues need to amend their bylaws and allow original owners right of first refusal to pick of their cut/retired player if they ever decide to return to football. Not fair for you guys to have to roster a retired player in hope of a return one day. Drop him and if he decides to play in a year or two... first pick up rights go the the owner that cut him after he formally retired.

I think he's done, but I'm hanging on to him in the one Superflex where I have him. Bought him for essentially three firsts this offseason, gotta hold onto any chance that someone sends me something of value for him.
3 firsts?? Damn. I’m sry.
I’m holding as well. I feel he’s done but.. I. Just... can’t, let go..... 😔
Totally agree. I should drop him, but in SF at least, I'm holding. I just can't quit you, Andrew Luck

Yeah, it's probably primarily an emotional response but I just can't click the drop button after moving AJG, a 2020 1st and Chris Godwin for him like a month ago. I clicked the accept button on that so fast lol. Thought I got a steal with an owner panicking over minor injuries...

Something else that should be mentioned, is a lot of leagues allow any player with an (IR) listing, or an (O) listing. Luck is listed as out on MFL. You can stash him on your IR in a lot of leagues.

I just moved him to my IR.

I bought him less Than 2 weeks Ago for Murray and a low 2020 1st.
Thinking it would put me up there with the contenders.

Guess not.

I asked the former owner if there was any chance he would send me the pick back.
I mean he still wins with Murray for Luck deal.
But he didnt.

What is your opinion on that. ?
This is a rare situation. I think if it was the other way around, and I just traded a player who should have plenty of football left.
But retired, i would say hey that is unlucky, ill give you Something back.

Or is it just unlucky even though zero games where played, zero snaps where taken, even zero limited pratices since i got him.

Owned Luck in 2 superflex and sold him for a 4th in one league and a 3rd in the 16 teamer. Didn’t want to waste the roster spot on a guy that appears pretty unlikely to come back. I didn’t realize so many ppl thought he was coming back, probably should have asked for more I guess. Still can’t believe how screwed we got, this was not even remotely the same as a rb or wr closing in on 30 this was a HOF QB which have been typically playing until close to 40 these days... UGH!

I thought I read an article saying that how the Colts retired him, if they wanted him back they’d have to claim him on waivers or something. I highly doubt they would do that and let him keep his bonus if he could come back in a year and completely screw them. Of course there’s a good chance I wildly misinterpreted that article

If he was in my single QB leagues I would drop him no use in hanging on to the guy for similar production. I do have him in a superflex league though and there I can't afford to drop him yet. I probably would hold out hope till 2021 if I had enough roster space

League size factors in here too, right?
10-team SuperFlex - Are you dropping him for a dart throw rookie QB like Minshew/T.Jackson/Rypien/Stick ?

Larger league I'd imagine much less is available

10 team superflex I dropped him. I also factor in, as little as I may know about him, his personality type from what I understand. I don't see him as a guy that is making some knee jerk reaction. He isn't going to need to come back because he is short on cash. He sure sounds like a dude that has goals that don't involve football. He isn't IR eligible so I dropped him for Damion Willis...

My team was a heavy favorite, but I am thin at QB now and quickly got old.

Superflex with deep enough rosters (12 team, 28 or more I'd say) yes definitely. He won't play this year, probably not next year, but maybe he comes back 2021. Colts letting him keep his signing and roster bonus for the year I felt was their way of leaving the door open.

1 QB any bench size? Hell no. Superflex with 20 roster spots? I'd keep different stashes.

I'm a dumb fool who bought him after the news. Plan is to hold for one year and then drop if he doesn't change his mind for next season.

No chance I'm giving anything back, or asking for it if I'm on the losing side.

Agreed, a lot of thought went into this decision
When I first heard the news, I figured I’d hold him

...then I listened to his press conference

Pretty easy drop in a 10 team (even SuperFlex)
(Luck)ily I didn’t own him in any deeper leagues
