Seems the Hyde trade will make it easier to get Higdon.

I would imagine it was pretty easy before that. Not sure he's worth acquiring to take up a roster spot, unless you have some empty taxi squad spots.

According to this, too.

Turns out Buddy Howell beat out both of them. He played well in the second preseason game, and apparently that was all Houston needed to see.

Lol this has been the most unpredictable position on a team this off-season. This whole board was saying any and every RB name to HOU. And even the 2 young guys that were favorites both got cut

This surprises the hell out of me.

I'm still going to hold all my shares. I love this kid.

I'm guessing Howell works hard, is reliable, doesn't make mistakes, and does well on the special-teams coverage units. Sometimes those items are all a guy needs to secure a #3 or #4 RB job. It's not as if Higdon played well in preseason, and I know of at least two fumbles by Crockett at the goal-line during practice, plus another lost fumble in preseason, and I wasn't really paying close attention to practice reports.

Hyde gets too much hate. He has hit some rough patches recently, but I think overall he is actually an ok RB and not the trash bag everyone makes him out to be. I preferred him to D. Williams early this offseason. That was starting to look like a blown call. But I’ll say this now that the dust has settled all around, and I’m not sure if it’s bold but it’s my feelings- I would still rather have Hyde over D. Williams, I think Hyde has the better year.

BOLD! I like bold statements. If you're right, you'll get to proudly display this for a long time. gl.

From a pure total yards and TDs perspective, that actually seems like a reasonable position.

Coach/GM OB is on fire!

We need more coach-GMs in the NFL making all these Madden/NBA-style blockbuster trades -future/future draft picks be damned!

Backfield-wise, I'm still not too excited because I'm not a fan of anyone they have. If anything, their passing game got better - Watson might get wrecked less for a change.
