Dude came in with a lot of hype but lacking college production. Measurable are top notch.

He seems to be getting a lot of negative training camp reports.

Anyone see anything here? Wait and see?

Thoughts?

That's all I've heard, which isn't good. Plus, the new regime didn't draft him, so they have no reason to force him into the lineup. Probably droppable in shallower formats.

He's a second year TE that was drafted int he second round. He was young & raw coming into the league. TE is regarded as one of the toughest positions to transition from college to the NFL and they generally take 3-4 yrs to breakout. It's way too early to give up imo. I just recently traded what I figure will be a late second in the 16 tm Early Birds league for Giesicki.

I never liked him, always screamed work out warrior and measurables project guy to me. So far looks like I'm right. I'd still be willing to take a chance on him if I have open roster space and get him free off waivers or as a throw-in on a trade, but I'm not paying anything for him.

Nick O'Leary is ahead of him on the depth-chart. O'Leary has probably the shortest arm-length for a TE in the league, and even with those T-Rex arms he's still a more reliable blocker than Gesicki.

It was very bad for Gesicki's outlook when the regime that drafted him skipped town. He was a polarizing TE prospect from square one. I think Flores and O'Shea want a starter that can be more reliable for traditional TE work.

t-rex arms are great for blocking, holdings go unnoticed more often!

He hasn't had time to fully develop yet, but the only positive's I have seen are him winning out for jump balls in the redzone on occasion. Combine hero is certainly a possibility. I sent a few cheap offers out, but no interest in taking the loss it seems.

I have no clue how to scout blocking, but even I can tell he sucks at blocking. He looks utterly clueless when he tries.

I'd be more concerned about the fact that for the second offseason in a row, there are questions about him "getting it." Teams don't wait forever.

I read somewhere last year he was scared of contact. Not sure if that’s true, but if it is, he’ll never amount to anything.

Here's a quote about Ebron early on: "Ebron had been a star since, well, probably the first time he strapped on a helmet. He was a physical freak, and killed defenses with his unique combination of size and speed.

That athleticism was enough to make him a big-time high school player. Enough to make him a record-breaking tight end at North Carolina. And, eventually, enough to make him a top-10 draft pick.

He figured he would make a similarly seamless transition to the NFL. Kill defenses with his athleticism.

Of course, it's never that simple at this level. It's a complicated game, particularly at tight end, and Ebron misread just how much he was going to have to learn to succeed right away.

"It was a lot more learning than I thought I needed," Ebron said after the season ended."

This is the kind of thing most TEs go through. I'm not saying I have no concerns and he's going to be a star. But to dismiss him as a bust after his first year is short sighted at best. And to address questions about him "getting it" for the second straight year you might have a point if there was continuity in Miami. There is not. He plays one of the most difficult positions to transition to in the NFL and he's now ALSO learning his second playbook. But hey in the what have you done for me lately mentality let's throw him away instead of looking at the situation for what it is.
