He's got a good few massive seasons left in him, IMO. You don't trade him unless you get proper value. If you are any sort of contender, it's not really in your interest to move him for anything less than how you value him, as he is a true difference maker, and tends to be at his best late in the year (except for week 16 this year, damn! LOL).
My take as well.

If you're doing a total rebuild, by all means sell because his price is sky high and he will win you some games next year.

If you're any sort of contender I hang on.

Sure he'll want and likely get big $$ from the Titans, but this one feels different than the other recent elite RB contracts - Zeke, DJ and even Gurley.

BTW - how does DLF have Henry as RB14 in current dynasty rankings? Not like he snuck up on anybody.
He's a Top 5 RB in the NFL right now, but because he's not 21 or 22, he won't be one in dynasty rankings. He's an RB1 moving forward regardless of format.

14 is very low but a lot of his placement comes from the tendency of FA RBs to have significant productions drops combined with this really being his only year of sustained production. Probably should be more around 7-9. As I would still take Cook, kamara chubb, CMC, Bark, and zeke over him fairly easily

If you were offered 1.06 and 1.07 (roughly Dobbins/Etienne and Akers), and you owned a contending team, would you take it?

I've slowly and painfully landed on the side of cashing out RBs after their first contracts.

Derrick Henry's Extension

Postby Orenthal Shames » Wed Jul 15, 2020 1:28 pm

4 years, 50M with 25.5M guarenteed. Makes him the 5th highest paid RB annually, behind CMC, Zeke, Bell & DJ.

Curious to see the details as to when Tenn has an out.

I like it. Still not that much money compared to so many other positions. Good to get that ahead of a lot of free agents & more rookies next year.

Right cause Kamara couldn't thrive behind Ingram. Hunt and Chubb? Gordon and Ekeler? List goes on and on. If the talent is there he'll be fine.

Wonder if this means they will manage his touches a little more then. I think this is a nice opportunity to maybe buy Evans, though with people just paying for him in rookie drafts not sure if you can really trade him for less than the value he was drafted for

As a guy with Henry on his roster (I hate saying "owner" of these players, anyone have a better suggestion for language) I love this. I think his value would have dropped literally anywhere else he went.

A Derrick Henry shareholder? Key investor?

It's a tricky one.
