This is a great point. When Henry came out of Alabama he had a massive workload. It probably did wonders for his career that Tennessee never gave him a workhorse role until now. Had he been fed this much right after that Alabama career, we might be talking about why Henry looks done.Cameron Giles wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2019 9:10 pm He's going to get paid. Re: Derrick Henry? What gives??
Treadwell and Doctson were going ahead of him in rookie drafts LoL
Re: Derrick Henry? What gives??
I haven’t checked his stats but my eye test tells me defenses tire before he does and his production goes up as the game progresses into the 2nd half.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2019 9:20 pmThis is a great point. I've been slow to come around on him, but he looks really good out there. Lethal stiff arm and houses it every other game. I'm on board now.

I'd rather have Derrick Henry than all of these guys...
DJ, Gurley, Kerryon, James Connor, Sanders, Le'Veon, Chris Carson, Gordon, Montgomery, Aaron Jones, and yes even Mixon.
That puts him around RB8 or so. Maybe higher if Tanny comes back next year & Henry sticks around.

Have a hard time disagreeing. I guess he'd be in the tier with Gurley and Mixon for me.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2019 6:55 pmSame.pvillebiker wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2019 6:41 pm I'd rather have Derrick Henry than all of these guys...

Yeah, Mixon I can see. Not Gurley. He's just not the same guy, as much as I was saying the opposite all off season. It's not going to get better next year either. In Dynasty, Henry is easily above TG for me, and it's not close.Jigga94 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2019 7:04 pmHave a hard time disagreeing. Re: Derrick Henry? What gives??
If your name isn't Saquon Barkley, Christian McCaffrey, or Ezekiel Elliott then you shouldn't be getting drafted ahead of Derrick Henry at this point.
Actually give him the 20+ carries per game that a momentum rusher like him requires and you're going to get 100+ yards and a TD almost every game. He's had under 20 carries in 7 games this year.

I'm still taking Kamara, Jacobs and Chubb over him very easily.49ersFaithful80 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2019 7:15 am If your name isn't Saquon Barkley, Christian McCaffrey, or Ezekiel Elliott then you shouldn't be getting drafted ahead of Derrick Henry at this point.

Re: Derrick Henry? What gives??
If you play full PPR then I would take Kamara as well. But Henry has handily outperformed him this year. I really don't like that the Saints decided to start giving a complete JAG (just a guy) in Latavius Murray so many touches.bjd5211 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2019 7:20 amI'm still taking Kamara, Jacobs and Chubb over him very easily.49ersFaithful80 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2019 7:15 am If your name isn't Saquon Barkley, Christian McCaffrey, or Ezekiel Elliott then you shouldn't be getting drafted ahead of Derrick Henry at this point.

As for Jacobs and Chubb I would be interested in hearing your reasoning for considering them significantly more valuable.
Henry is only 25 years old and has over 1,300 scrimmage yards and 13TD's with 5 games to go. He's outscored both of them despite the fact that he misused early in the season.
Re: Derrick Henry? What gives??
Because I'll be drafting them for what they will do going forward, not what they have done in the past. Derrick Henry is having another great end of the season, but he has a playing style and body type that historically does not age well at a position that already doesn't age well. He's going in to year 5 of his career, look around the league and this forum and tell me how valued RBs with 5+ years in the league are typically valued.49ersFaithful80 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2019 7:54 amIf you play full PPR then I would take Kamara as well. Re: Derrick Henry? What gives??
He's in year 4 right now and has only been getting significant carries for the last year and a half. He has 733 career carries.bjd5211 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2019 8:44 amBecause I'll be drafting them for what they will do going forward, not what they have done in the past. Ezekiel Elliott has been in the league the same amount of time and has 350 more carries on his tires, I'd say he's pretty valuable right?
No way I'm taking question marks on awful career ruining football teams over a 25 year-old stud who has seen very limited usage up until recently.
