He's had some bad drops that are somewhat concerning but my personal opinion is that things like that can be fixed. Either way, not a terrible start for a UDFA and although the receivers for the Dolphins admittedly aren't a strong bunch, it's encouraging how big his piece of the pie is.

Not a bad game from him against a solid Bills defense: 8 targets / 6 receptions / 82 yards

Now his season stats are... 44 targets / 23 receptions / 314 yards / 1 touchdown
On pace for... 117.33 targets / 61.33 receptions / 837.33 yards / 2.67 touchdowns

Do you guys think he hits 1,000 receiving yards? Is he truly the future of the Dolphins receiving group?

He's definitely got work to do, but being thrust into an essentially "starring" role on a complete disaster squad, I love what I am seeing.
Some of the mental mistakes he is making, the drops/fumbles, are good in the sense that this season was tanked anyways so making those mistakes now is better than if this were a competitive season.
He reminds me of the first few seasons of Davante Adams who struggled with drops, though unfortunately for Davante his team was competitive.

As long as he stats out of trouble he looks like he's going to be one of their starters for the next several years, now they might bring in another guy to be the #1, but they have so many needs you don't start building your team by investing heavy draft capital in the WR position. He's got the talent and opportunity to be the lead WR there, he just needs to take advantage of it, overall I would say so far so good for him.

Hard saying. Anything not bolted down seems to be up for sale in Miami.

He was brought in by the current regime, will cost absolutely pennies for the next 3.5 seasons. He's safe as long as he doesn't AB himself out of the league.

It would make me a feel a little better if D. Parker didn't have similar stats on the year...

Although saying a udfa Rookie is matching a 5th year 1st round WR production could also be misleading...

I was just reading some of the posts at the beginning of this thread and want to revisit - what is Preston's value now about halfway through his rookie season?

I feel pretty good about Preston maintaining his value for now, and the near certainty that the Dolphins draft a QB makes it even more enticing. I think he's good enough (especially compared to the rest of the Dolphins WRs) to keep producing this year and so he'll have a pretty attractive statline for a rookie when the season is over. I think the only thing that can really crush his value is if the Dolphins DON'T draft a QB (which would be insane), or if they draft a similarly-profiled WR in the first 3 rounds (if it's a small speedy guy that's fine with me).

Having said all of that... hmmm... I would guess his general value to be around mid 2nd, maybe mid-late 2nd? Though I personally wouldn't sell for anything less than an early 2nd. There is enough intrigue/excitement around him to inflate his value at the moment.

I wouldn't sell for less than a first as the potential is quite high, though I could understand not wanting to pay more than a second.

Pretty much this, would want a top 15ish pick to even consider. Most people will probably be uncomfortable paying that much, but any prospect you get later than that probably won't have more potential than him and will have proven nothing at the NFL level unlike Preston.

Yeah I'd need a first to even consider, same as I said back in August, and I know I likely wouldn't receive an offer like that at this time

I agree. No reason to sell for a 2nd now. Late first probably wouldn't budge me either. You'll need a dolphin fan to pay those prices.

I actually got him as somewhat of a throw-in last week...not everybody is a Preston Williams believer yet!
