SUSPENDED players on IR

Should players marked SUS be allowed in IR slots?
I've played in multiple leagues where this is allowed and was never crazy about it but didn't mention it; just figured it was used as another way to stash a player, no harm no foul

However, I just took over as commish in a league & an owner keeps messaging me about it
(obviously because it would benefit his team)

I put it to a vote & it's currently tied

But I was curious of what some more seasoned dynasty players think about this

Our league allows but I don't like it. That said, I currently have Herndon on IR because as long as it's legal, I'm not going to disadvantage myself out of principle.

I see suspensions differently than injury, so I'd prefer them not to be allowed. You have to burn a roster spot on bonehead player.

Sure, like I said I've never been crazy about it - but I too would use it in those leagues if I had a SUS player for the same reason

IR stands for Injured Reserve. Suspended players should not be allowed on IR designated spots. Allowing suspended players to be placed on IR usually just creates turmoil in the league.

We used to allow suspended players on IR a while ago but after 2 seasons of josh gordon going on/off several teams IR spots, we decided to remove the suspended players from IR and it's been smooth sailing ever since.

Yep, I agree. Was just curious if anyone else saw it as a big deal. Especially considering half the league so far has voted NO

But obviously some will vote whichever way is self-serving.
If they have a SUS player - vote yes; If not, don't want another team to gain an advantage - vote no

As a follow up: we are likely doing away with IR spots all together next year. We will expand our rosters one more time and instead of the original plan of 28+2 IR, we will just do 30 spots and be done. This came about more from people refusing/playing dumb about remove now healthy guys from IR slots than it did from suspended players. Either way, I'm in favor of this plan. Just simplifies things.

To me IR is for one of four official designations
IR
IR-DTR
IR-NFI
PUP

IR is for IR(variations) and PUP for us. It got abused too much as an extra roster spot, so if everybody complains about it just add more roster space. That seems to be the goal anyways.

We also allow OUT players on IR;
But that one doesn't bother me as much because at least the player is actually injured lol

Far less admin BS to worry about, more roster spots, more roster flexibility.

Everyone should promote this sort of reasonable simplicity in every league - I know I keep trying for small but useful improvements like these in ours.

Otherwise, one MFL functionality problem is multiple player statuses aren't allowed. For example, if a player is both injured and suspended, MFL will have the injured status override the suspension status, at least until they're no longer injured.

IR only. Suspended players you have to just suck up a roster spot or offload them to someone who is willing to do so (or just outright dump if you don't have space). But that's just our league.

Each to their own - just make sure that it's in the bylaws one way or another and then stick to it
