I'd imagine the Texans still draft a back next year. Duke is not a 250-300 touch player in the NFL. I think Miller may be gone next year, though and Duke is part of a committee or continues his COP/3rd down role he had in Cleveland.Jason3123 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 11:14 am I think this might be good long-term, but call me skeptical on being traded a month before the season as a good thing. He won't get carries over Lamar, or probably even the real backup RB, and he's kind of redundant to Keke. As usual Duke will not be a good weekly play and will most likely ride your bench. Or help you to a 4-9 season.

Re: Duke Johnson
I cackled embarrassingly loudly when I saw this news ticker update on my phone. Co-workers gave me funny looks.
I'm a little bit worried about my Coutee shares in light of this, but I'm ecstatic for my D. Watson shares! So many high upside weapons for him to throw to now! Good god. And it's great for my Duke shares, obviously.
Personally, I do prefer the Texans for Duke over the Bucs (or any other team sans the Saints if Kamara were to fall into a black hole or something). I think this landing spot is ideal when factoring near and long term context equally. It's what I've been hoping for for him all offseason. Duke has a real chance to prove to Houston he should be their lead-back starting next year, with a Patriots offensive system acolyte as his head-coach for which Duke's skill-set profiles nicely. https://twitter.com/evansilva/status/11 ... 5578081280
Side note: even in a down year for Duke last season, he ranked second-best in elusive rating (94.8), behind only Chubb, and has ranked top-two in receiving missed tackles forced in three of the past four seasons.

Despite the Browns never committing to using him that way, Duke has been an excellent ball-carrier all his career, both in the NFL and college. Speaking of which, guess who's Miami's all-time leading rusher? Ahead of Edge, Portis, Gore, McGahee, Ottis Anderson...

False. You need to do more research into his analytics as a rusher, my dude.FantasyDumDum wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 8:09 am Duke is ONLY relevant(and barely just so in PPR formats only) due to his pass catching.

Re: Duke Johnson
Can we call Hillard a sleeper? I really like what little I've seen from Hillard. I traded for Duke in January shortly after trading for Mayfield. I wanted that passing back connection with Mayfield. Now that Duke is gone I feel the need to roster Hillard or try to buy low on Hunt.

Re: Duke Johnson
This does nothing but helps his tanked value obviously. Just like I argued with people about with Amari Cooper last season when he got traded to Dallas, getting traded to any other of the 31 NFL teams when the player is talented and not being used is an obvious better situation.

Re: Duke Johnson
God, I hope so. I wondered about his Achilles for a hot minute there, based on the replay.

They often say it's a sprain. Wait for the MRI
Dynasty player since 2002.
I probably should have done something more productive with that time...

Re: Duke Johnson
If Keke is seriously hurt, which I truly hope he isnt, then wow Duke will be even more valuable than he was when people got excited about the trade to begin with.
