Re: AJ Green Remaining Dynasty value

Postby bigcsr67 » Wed Oct 30, 2019 12:15 pm

I traded Calvin Ridley and Jordan Howard for AJ Green, Darrius Guice and a 2020 4th rounder back in week 2. I am happy as of right now, as AJ and Guice are both looking to return soon. I could use another RB heading into the playoffs... fingers crossed!

I traded him for a 2020 2nd which I expect to be 12th-14th.

I would make the trade again in a second, as I am in a total rebuild. I shopped him around to every owner for a 2020 1st and everyone declined.

He went for a 2020 second , mid to late in one league,

Also straight up for Tyrell Williams in another.

I can see the reasoning behind this, but I'd rather have Calvin Ridley than the package you received. If it helps you win a title, great. But in three years this one may hurt.

How do you not?

You can trade during the playoffs?

Ours is November 10th. The 11th is a holiday here in canada. Remembrance day. So yea week 10

Re opens after the real nfl draft.
A lot of dynasty leagues don't have traded deadlines. The rationale for them in redraft doesn't really hold up as much in dynasty...the bottom teams in redraft don't really have any reason to care anymore, but the bottom teams in dynasty do.
Yes some great, sensible trades are made in dynasty at the end of the season. Time to sell older guys if you're not competing and buy the prospects. Vice versa if you are competing and need a little production boost...

Well, he missed the entire year. Some say he coulda played, but he saw no reason with a bad team and FA around the corner.

How does his Free Agency play out? Does be get tagged and catch passes from Burrow? Does he walk to, say, the Patriots, Raiders or Packers? Does he sign an extension to stay in Cincinnati?

I think it makes sense for Cincy and AJ to both move on and have a fresh start, hopefully he gets to hit free agency.

I'd respectfully disagree. The best thing for Cincy would be to draft Burrow and have a solid WR1 in AJ Green to throw to so that Burrow can develop at the NFL level. The best thing for AJ would be to go sign a big contract somewhere else where he has the chance to compete for a championship.

I've always been a fan of Green. He's in the Megatron/Fitz mold where they never showboat, it isn't about them, and when they score they usually just give the ball to the ref and behave like this is their job. Not only that but seems like a stand-up guy off the field who never gets into any drama.

No prediction on what will happen, but if AJ sticks around and Burrow shows out next year they could be a sneaky good team. They have a stud RB, would have AJ as WR1, Ross/Boyd as WR2/3, a 2nd round pick TE, and they are getting their 2019 1st round pick back next year (lineman who spend the whole year on IR).

As a Bengals fan, I love the player, but I can't see him coming back. He's going to want big money and a few years on a contract.

The issue is his health. He's missed half of his last 50 games and isn't getting any younger. He'll be 32 at the start of camp.

I traded him in November when he was about to come back for a 2nd in 2020, now the 15th overall pick. Rebuilding team so I am pretty happy about it.

The best thing for the Bengals would've been to trade him months ago...

And Dalton, Dunlap & Atkins. Alas, it's the Bengals.

Call me crazy but if burrows is as good as we think he could be and a truly 100% healthy AJG I dont think the bengals in a wild card spot is a crazy notion.

They have some nice peices in place and the Steelers didnt light the world on fire and the browns are well.. let's just leave it at that
QB - DWatson(HOU)Minshew(JAX)Darnold(NYJ)
RB -NChubb(CLE)DHenry(TEN)JTaylor(IND)Gurley(ATL)
WR -DHopkins(ARI)ACooper(DAL)CGodwin(TB)OBJ(CLE)
TE - HHenry(SD)DGoeddart(PHI)
K - Zurlien(LAR)Crosby(GB)
Def - ARI DAL
[rookie] Haskins(WAS)DSwift(DET)Jefferson(MIN)MHardman(KC)
7th pick in 2021

Rosters must always be 3qbs 4wrs 4rbs 2tes 2kickers 2dst and protected players don't take up a roster spot, but are only for rookie/2nd-year players that were drafted

Two-part problem:

- Shame on the Bengals for not at least trying to trade Green for some extra ammunition. Boyd, Ross, Tate aren't superstars but there are definitely worse receiving corps to deal with.

- Shame on AJ for not forcing the Bengals to do something, you feel that a guy who has done so much for that franchise would be able to call his own shot. Personally, I hope he doesn't resign and if he signs elsewhere I'd have to believe Cincy would have gotten more via trade than a comp pick they'd likely receive in 2021.

I don't think year 1 for that will be likely.
