Maybe he'll get traded to AZ when Murray blows out his knee in preseason.

I think Winston is going to be a better fantasy QB than real life QB. So, yes I think he's a buy and great value in any format.

If he can convince Tampa to hold onto him despite being a better fantasy QB than NFL QB, sure. But I don't see how that's a reasonable assumption.

Agreed. He needs to impress the TB brass this year or he's out. They will most likely have a high pick (especially if he doesn't play well), and they did not pick up his option for a reason. He's in a great spot for garbage time/FF situations where they are going to have to throw a lot, but in a non redraft situation, he is on thin ice, which means in a dynasty context, he is as well.

in the NFL in 2020?

Seems like he's been playing his way into a backup role for 3 years now.

I don't think so, but will not be surprised at all if he's brought in by some team that can't get top prospect in the draft. TB could even get stuck with him, they'll be drafting too late to be in the conversation for the top QB prospects. There will always be that one coach out there that will look at him and think "I can fix that guy". Jameis clearly has the physical talents and ability to play the position and has played at a high level in spurts before inevitably regressing again, unlike a lot of guys who have flat out shown they can't play. His #1 overall pick pedigree will get him another opportunity, and likely he'll play just well enough to convince the team he can be the guy long-term and then he'll implode again.

I don't think he will be starting, but it wouldn't shock me if he does. So many injuries to QBs this year to complicate things and who knows if the 2020 rookies hit.

Jameis has been good for my Evans and Godwin shares, I'll be sad-ish to see him go.

I think he'll be a starter in 2020, beyond that i'm not sure. I can certainly see some team bringing him in while they given a rookie a year to develop.

He's still better than a lot of the starting QBs in the league right now. I think he'll get a shot to start somewhere, just not sure how long he'll last.

If the Bucs move on from him, no.

I don't see any places for him to go. There are a few teams that will almost certainly draft a QB. Just going down the list of teams, there really aren't a lot of openings.

Tennessee, Miami, Cincy, Broncos, Bears all could be looking, but I don't see Winston going to Miami, Cincy or the Broncos, as they will have high picks, and the Broncos may give Lock a shot. The Bears make little sense, as a turnover machine in Winston is the last thing they need. With that D, they need a guy that protects the ball. IDK about the Titans.

I expect Arians is likely to give Winston more than 1 year to learn his system, keep developing - just like Gruden has with Carr in Oakland.

Interesting article here - not that I think Peyton Manning can be compared to Winston - but perhaps their situations can be. If going by his mentality & scrambling skills perhaps more Brett Favre (he who holds the record for most Ints).

Arians is certainly bull-headed and impatient enough to prefer to keep Winston and "fix him" to bringing in a rookie or average veteran free agent.

As an owner, my hope is Winston cuts the turnovers down ROS, and TB gives him an extension. His situation is pretty elite if they get a smidge of OL help.
