Re: Melvin Gordon injury
Please people, tell us more about your specific team and the impacts. It’s tantalizing information.
The injury is obviously a significant hit to a lot of teams, as not everyone values ‘handcuffs’. The fact Ekeler was producing decent standalone value either a) enticed Gordon owners to ensure they got him even more than a standard handcuff would (I.e. Edmunds, Ware, etc), or b) made the cost more than they were willing to invest. This injury, combined with Bell’s situation and Connor’s rise, should encourage more people to invest in talented backups, even if just handcuffs. Quality offenses warrant it. Ware and Brown would be appealing guys with significant value spikes if Hunt or Gurley went down, to either roll out yourself or trade. It needs ‘bad’ luck, but can reward any owner given the offenses. May be something more owners consider going forward. RB darts are great to have and see lots of sudden value spikes occur each season (I.e. Lindsay, Gus, etc.).
Condolences to those who lost Melvin and don’t own Ekeler. Rough timing.

Re: Melvin Gordon injury
I have tried selling handcuffs to so many various owners and I get rejected every time. I tried selling Chase Edmonds to the DJ owner for a 3rd and got instantly rejected.
Re: Melvin Gordon injury
But if DJ goes down, maybe you can get the owner to pay a 2nd for him then, when he's in a state of panic?

Re: Melvin Gordon injury
I tried buying Edmunds early in the season for a late 3rd and was rejected. He had drafted him in the late 5th (SF/IDP league). I wouldn't go any higher than that, but just goes to show it depends on the league and owner. Some believe in the talent of a handcuff, and some may just believe in the situation. Obviously every 'handcuff' acquisition has its limits.

Does anyone think Jackson is worth a spot at this point? I can't really see Ekeler as a three down back but LAC have enough weapons that they could probably make it workOrenthal Shames wrote: ↑Mon Nov 26, 2018 8:55 am I think Justin Jackson gets some run in Gordon's absence too. Re: Melvin Gordon injury
Depends on league size. In deeper leagues, absolutely. Matt Waldman broke down a bunch of his runs from yesterday. He looked good. I can't see them giving Ekeler a massive workload.Hankybro21 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 26, 2018 1:53 pmDoes anyone think Jackson is worth a spot at this point? Re: Melvin Gordon injury
I bet Jackson gets 15 carries while Ekeler gets 9/10. Ekeler should see 7-12 targets though.

That's what I'm thinking too. It was nice seeing Ekeler get a goal line carry and converting.Space Cowboy wrote: ↑Mon Nov 26, 2018 3:04 pm I bet Jackson gets 15 carries while Ekeler gets 9/10. Ekeler should see 7-12 targets though.

Re: Melvin Gordon injury
Haha, I tried this as well, and got rejected. So I went the other way and traded for DJ.
Gordon's injury also sucks because he was playing so well. I was able to trade peanuts for him after his rookie season, and have enjoyed him on my team since.

Re: Melvin Gordon injury
He is my main RB in both of my leagues..
My 12-0 team will now be rolling out the inspiring duo of Tarik Cohen & Doug Martin.

I am trying to pick him up off waivers in my BML redraft. Thinking he is a 2 down and goal line back. Probably match Ekeler in touches. He looks to be the stronger runner.
Obviously a gamble but may need him in one league at a flex.
Thinking he could get close to 100 yards and maybe a score. He ran really well last week when called upon.
