You should strongly consider trading one of those guys. Probably lamar gives you the biggest haul. I think 2 1st is a starting pointbjd5211 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2019 9:00 amWho, Lamar?
Honestly no idea, I've had no discussions regarding Lamar in my leagues I own him and he hasn't been moved in any of the leagues I don't own him.
He's my #2 QB behind Mahomes though, and he is closer to surpassing Mahomes than my #3 (Watson) is to surpassing Lamar.

I'm saying in my rankings lol.
I do have a team with both Mahomes and Lamar, but it's SF so I'm very happy.

Some of those trades are meh (like the Gordon one) but that minshew one is awful. Come to think of it, don't like any of the 1QB ones. I love that st one- like getting that 4th tipped the scales, lol.

Re: Sell Now Players!!!
I had the same stance on Mahomes last season that I currently do with Lamar Jackson. I advocated selling high on Mahomes because the way he seemed to be viewed and valued was 50 TD seasons would be the norm. I thought he would still be a good asset, but the deals some were passing up only made sense to pass on if Mahomes was going to be the QB1 every year for the next 5. He has been good this year but QB5 or so is totally different than what happened last season.Weknownothing86 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2019 8:12 amI get this take, trust me i do, and ive had these same thoughts as a Lamar owner sometimes but this is FAR easier said than done if you have the guy on your roster. Right or wrong in your eyes the owners look at him like Pat Mahomes, and no one wants to sell Mahomes either.jenkins.math wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2019 7:50 am I'm sure I'll get flamed for this, but my sell now would be Lamar Jackson. I feel the same about Lamar. I don't think he will duplicate this next season. That isn't saying he will be bad, but unless he is the QB1 or 2 overall, I can find another QB that won't be the reason I lose a week.

Re: Sell Now Players!!!
It's fine to bet on his upside, but it's almost a certainty there will be statistical regression. Look at Mahomes this season. Look at Baker. Remember Carson Wentz 2 years ago? QBs seem to have this one insane statistical year where they blow everyone else out of the water, but then it's back to the pack. Cam Newton is a prime example of his MVP year where he won leagues but was right back to the pack after that.bjd5211 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2019 8:44 amThis is a fair mindset, but I'm not shopping or selling him unless I get an offer I truly cannot refuse. I invested heavily in Lamar in his rookie draft because of the immense fantasy potential I saw, and now he is already living up to it if not exceeding sooner than I thought was possible. Now he could very well regress for a myriad of reasons, or he could prove that he is legit and continue being a fantasy monster for years to come. I would rather hold and bet on his immense upside and accept the risk of him regressing, than sell and bet on his regression and watch him go on to be an absolute star for someone else. That's just me and my style of play though, most people around here are a lot more cautious and conservative.jenkins.math wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2019 7:50 am I'm sure I'll get flamed for this, but my sell now would be Lamar Jackson. I can't remember specifics, but over the last decade I think there have only been 3 QBs to have at least 3 top 5 QB finishes on the season. I think Luck and Rodgers were 2 of them but I don't remember the 3rd. It may have been Peyton, but I can't recall. When people are paying QB1 overall prices, it's foolish not to take those offers. You call it "cautious and conservative" where I just see the data trends and probabilities as making his regression likely and the norm. I actually think its more cautious to hold what you have than to sell off a player coming off a career year. Especially at a young age.
Re: Sell Now Players!!!
I'm not saying Lamar (or Mahomes) will be the #1 QB in scoring every year, but I'm confident they'll be in the mix every year and are the best bets to do so. The leagues I own Lamar I've already done extensive work in acquiring picks and assets that I feel very good about my depth over the long-term and am not really looking to move a high end starter for more depth. So sure if Lamar is one of your few assets it makes sense to turn him into multiple pieces, but ultimately depth only goes so far and at some point your focus needs to be on having the best possible lineup and very few QBs can match the scoring potential of Lamar Jackson.
Re: Sell Now Players!!!
Jackson kind of reminds me of rookie RG3.

Re: Sell Now Players!!!
I actually think Lamar has a better chance of being more consistent for fantasy purposes than Mahomes does, just due to his rushing ability. Mahomes is still the better real life QB.
Re: Sell Now Players!!!
I think we saw Mahomes ceiling last year, which is a nice ceiling for sure. I don't believe we have seen Lamar's ceiling yet.bjd5211 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2019 3:25 pm I'm not saying Lamar (or Mahomes) will be the #1 QB in scoring every year, but I'm confident they'll be in the mix every year and are the best bets to do so.
