How concerned are we about Sony?

Postby joeday » Wed Jun 12, 2019 7:04 am

A lot of talk about Gurley, especially after the Rams took DH, but what do we think about Sony? He also is not participating in mini camps and the Patriots also took a talented RB in the 3rd round.

I was concerned so i sold him and a low second for Josh Jacobs. Im a Pats fan too and loved what he did in the playoffs so i didnt want to sell him but for fantasy purposes i was concerned. It may come to bite me but we shall see.

I'm not sure where I stand, only have him in one league. On one hand he was great the last time we saw him play, and to our knowledge no injury has occurred. The flip side is it's the Patriots and they used a 3rd round pick on a RB. Assuming he's healthy Sony is talented enough to be a 3 down stud, but I don't think NE will ever use him that way while Belichick is there, not that I can question how they go about their business.

It's too early to tell imo.

The narrative right now is certainly driving Sony's price down, but not participating in mini camp doesn't mean a whole lot to me. The Patriots leaned heavily on Sony at the end of the season, and he rewarded them with some incredible production. It is more of a wait and see approach for me.

I was worried about him this time last year.

The guy above who got Jacobs and a 2nd is a smart man. Sony have very above average talent but I don't see him as overly elite. Not to mention the injury risk
QB - DWatson(HOU)Minshew(JAX)Darnold(NYJ)
RB -NChubb(CLE)DHenry(TEN)JTaylor(IND)Gurley(ATL)
WR -DHopkins(ARI)ACooper(DAL)CGodwin(TB)OBJ(CLE)
TE - HHenry(SD)DGoeddart(PHI)
K - Zurlien(LAR)Crosby(GB)
Def - ARI DAL
[rookie] Haskins(WAS)DSwift(DET)Jefferson(MIN)MHardman(KC)
7th pick in 2021

Rosters must always be 3qbs 4wrs 4rbs 2tes 2kickers 2dst and protected players don't take up a roster spot, but are only for rookie/2nd-year players that were drafted

Well just saw on Rotoworld he had his knee scoped, but expects to be ready for camp.

He had a procedure on his knee last year, too. Geez. Not good at all.

I'm not overly worried and actually would be inclined to buy on the dip. As someone mentioned he looked great last time we saw him. That's enough for me.

Everyone who drafted him should have gone in knowing the risk. Guy had chronic knee trouble in college. There isn't a big chance he has a +8 year career, but the 3 or 4 years he has should be pretty productive

This should increase Henderson's value, somehow.

Oh. I still like it. Jacob's has potential to break into that elite tier. Like top 5 startup pick good. Sony is a very VERY nice player but in never see him ever being a 1st round startup rb
