Don't forget Dallas Clark. The Hawkeyes have produced a lot of good TEs. I think the ability to feature the position and send TEs up to the pros leads to better recruiting and then the better recruiting coupled with the system leads to more prospects finding NFL success, so the two kind of reinforce each other.
Kittle also played with them and said this on ESPN during the draft, so he had a direct influence on them too... sure he helped em out as freshman here and there

"One week into fall camp my senior year, I literally said out loud 'I am so happy I'm graduating because both those guys would have taken my spot,'" Kittle said.

I view Hockenson as the safer pick but Fant appears to have more fantasy upside

Hmmmm...I'm in an FFPC league ($500 #3) where I took Hock 1.03 and Fant went 1.06. You in that league by chance?

I've had 3 drafts so far.

12 team superflex: Hockenson 9, Fant 11
10 team IDP: Hockenson 6, Fant 10
10 team IDP: Hockenson 8, Fant 19

That's pick differences of 2, 4, and 11. I selected 4+ as the "average" for the poll.
12 Team Superflex - PPR, 0.25 PPC - QB/2RB/3WR/TE/Flex/Superflex
QB: L Jackson, Tagovailoa, Rodgers, Pickett, Tannehill
RB: Swift, Pacheco, Sanders, Hubbard, Spears, Dillon, Herbert, McLaughlin, Chandler, Dowdle
WR: DeVonta, Waddle, Aiyuk, Nacua, McLaurin, Hopkins, M Williams, Mingo, Wan’Dale, Hyatt
TE: Kelce, Okonkwo, Schoonmaker

I was hoping one would gall to pick #11 for me in our rookie draft 1QB/1TE league and they went 1.05 and 1.07! I was very surprised so I ended up taking Irv Smith at 2.09 and was very happy with that instead of paying up in the early 1st round.

In a 2TE SF league, Hock was taken at 1.03 and I took Fant at 1.04. The Hock owner then offered me his Hock for my Fant straight up which I accepted.

Lol reminds me of when I took Baker right after Darnold. I offered Baker and a throw in for Darnold and they declined... Come mid season they offered me Darnold for Baker straight up.. No thanks

Hock was still there at 15 so I traded 20 and 28 to move up and get him.
