They matter more in some leagues than others. My sig league is thirsty for RBs, and third stringers are rostered.

This question is akin to asking if Crabtree has value- in the right league, yes.
League #1- 14 tm ppr, 1Q, 2R, 3W, 1T, 1 R/W/T, 1K
1 DT, 2 DE, 2 LB, 1 CB, 1 S, 1 flex

League #2- 12 team PPR, 1Q, 1R, 2W, 1T, 1 R/W/T, 1 W/R/T, 1 Def

League #3- 12 tm PPR, 1Q, 0R (yes, ZERO RB) 3W, 1T, 2 R/W/T flex, 1 Def

With only Latavius and Ozingbo to replace Ingram, seems New Orleans could use a Kamara wingman.
I think Latavius is better than either Ajayi or Blount

He was a RB1 in 2016 at age 23 despite only starting 12 games. In their second seasons in the league, he outscored Todd Gurley. I was never a big fan, but it wasn't outlandish to like this guy.

Not only that, but having three 200+ yard games in a season can really boost your stock. Fairly certain he had the 2nd best ypc in the league in 2017 (for the games he was on the Eagles - Kamara was #1).

If his knees didn't drop him down boards, he was also in the conversation for being the 3rd RB drafted in 2015, right behind Melvin Gordon and Todd Gurley.

He's not actually that bad in real life football. Prob is, he doesn't have the long speed, and his knees will limit his overall time in the league. Not only that but he's coming off an injury, and RB is next man up/healthy body mentality. And now he's not signed due to health, so after the accumulation of those things, he's been pushed wayyyyyy down in valuation optics.

Personally I hope he goes to the Bucs and his value bounces back. Just think there's no way that team goes into the year with the backs they have currently. Another solid landing spot would be with Houston. Who knows tho, Ajayi might have to wait for an injury mid season to get a shot.

I was more looking at from an injury replacement angle, based on what happens during the off, pre, and in-season periods. I like Latavius more than Blount and Ajayi more than either.

I’m hoping Ajayi will be signed by some team at some point. I just traded Taylor Gabriel straight up for him. I believe as training camp and preseason gets closer, teams will take a look at him. Heck, it may be into the season, but I believe he will get another shot. Even if he doesn’t come back, the trade doesn’t hurt me, as Gabriel is my last WR, so I was debating just dropping him anyway. Figured it was worth taking a shot on Ajayi.

I have no clue on Blount though. He seems to offer nothing at this stage in his career.

I’m not sure the rules or how it goes, so somebody please correct me if I’m mistaken. But I think June 1st is a key date here right? Something about not having to guarantee any of the contract money if they’re cut before the season? Or it doesn’t effect the salary cap maybe? I don’t know, I may be talking out my arse on this, but I certainly was under the impression it was a significant date. Same as for cutting veterans after June 1st saves money against the cap or spreads it to next year or something, right?

June 1 is only relevant for cuts. Nothing to gain by waiting til then to sign a veteran.
Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.

Fair enough. But piggybacking off just that, could it be interested teams are waiting to clear up some money/cap space after making a few “post June 1st” cuts before signing these type of guys to contracts? Or maybe even simply waiting to clear up some roster space to fit them? I’d argue the date may still hold relevance, possibly.

The date you’re thinking of is opening day. Once the season starts, contracts are no longer guaranteed for the season.
