They matter more in some leagues than others. My sig league is thirsty for RBs, and third stringers are rostered.
This question is akin to asking if Crabtree has value- in the right league, yes.

I think Latavius is better than either Ajayi or BlountPullo Vision wrote: ↑Thu May 23, 2019 5:09 pmWith only Latavius and Ozingbo to replace Ingram, seems New Orleans could use a Kamara wingman.DelawareRiverEagles wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2019 2:39 pm Yeah, Blount to NEP sounds like it should happen. Heck, Blount back to TB would be a nice addition for the Bucs. They should go for Ajayi though.

He was a RB1 in 2016 at age 23 despite only starting 12 games. In their second seasons in the league, he outscored Todd Gurley. I was never a big fan, but it wasn't outlandish to like this guy.
Not only that, but having three 200+ yard games in a season can really boost your stock. Fairly certain he had the 2nd best ypc in the league in 2017 (for the games he was on the Eagles - Kamara was #1).OhCruelestRanter wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2019 9:11 amHe was a RB1 in 2016 at age 23 despite only starting 12 games. I was more looking at from an injury replacement angle, based on what happens during the off, pre, and in-season periods. I like Latavius more than Blount and Ajayi more than either.Flatlander19 wrote: ↑Thu May 23, 2019 8:02 pmI think Latavius is better than either Ajayi or BlountPullo Vision wrote: ↑Thu May 23, 2019 5:09 pmWith only Latavius and Ozingbo to replace Ingram, seems New Orleans could use a Kamara wingman.DelawareRiverEagles wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2019 2:39 pm Yeah, Blount to NEP sounds like it should happen. everyone's knees are getting worseCameron Giles wrote: ↑Thu May 23, 2019 7:01 pm Blount is old and Ajayi's knees are getting worse. Neither is likely to be fantasy relevant. They may get signed if another team gets hit with injuries or something.

June 1 is only relevant for cuts. Nothing to gain by waiting til then to sign a veteran.sugbear65 wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2019 3:41 pm I’m not sure the rules or how it goes, so somebody please correct me if I’m mistaken. But I think June 1st is a key date here right? Something about not having to guarantee any of the contract money if they’re cut before the season? Or it doesn’t effect the salary cap maybe? I don’t know, I may be talking out my arse on this, but I certainly was under the impression it was a significant date. Same as for cutting veterans after June 1st saves money against the cap or spreads it to next year or something, right?

Fair enough. But piggybacking off just that, could it be interested teams are waiting to clear up some money/cap space after making a few “post June 1st” cuts before signing these type of guys to contracts? Or maybe even simply waiting to clear up some roster space to fit them? I’d argue the date may still hold relevance, possibly.Pac_Eddy wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2019 4:07 pmJune 1 is only relevant for cuts. The date you’re thinking of is opening day. Once the season starts, contracts are no longer guaranteed for the season.sugbear65 wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2019 3:41 pm I’m not sure the rules or how it goes, so somebody please correct me if I’m mistaken.
