Trade down from 1.01, what do you expect to get in picks

Postby Wizard » Sun May 19, 2019 10:37 pm

So you have the 1.01 but you've decided to trade out of it for more picks. What would you expect to get for it?

I keep hearing a lot of owners want to trade down but I haven't heard what you realistically expect to get in return to trade down. I know there are a ton of variables, but lets say your in a 12 team 1QB league, your not desperate for a RB or WR but you'd like to improve your team some this year but at the same time try to stock up on 2020 picks.

Your OTC and you can trade down and get any reasonable trade involving picks, what do you want to give up your 1.01?
QB -Tom Brady, Nick Foles Deshaun Watson

RB - Kenyan Drake, Darrius Guise, Tevin Coleman, Leonard Fournett, Kareem Hunt, Justin Jackson, Jaylen Samuels, Carlos Hyde, Duke Johnson Jr., Jordan Wilkins, CJ Anderson, Chris Warren,

WR - Davante Adams , T.Y. Hilton, Courtland Sutton, Devin Funchess, Doug Baldwin, Michael Crabtree, Antonio Callaway, J’Mon Moore, Dylan Cantrell, Keith Kirkwood, James Richie

TE - Zach Ertz, Harris Demetrius, Hayden Hurst

I'd sell for a mid 1st and an early 2nd; not sure I'd buy for that though.

Maybe 1.05 & 2.05 for the 1.01 would be about right.

How far do you want to drop? I hear people talk about trading down quite a bit....but it really depends on how far you drop and how your trade partner values your particular draft slot. How comfortable you are with lets say...a mid 1st compared to 1.4 or 1.12. Then how your trade partner see's the gap.

Maybe 1.05 & 2.05 for the 1.01 would be about right.
No matter how talented or not talented a rookie class is, I would not even consider a offer in this ball park.
If you did a typo, and meant 1.02, it would be closer.

In a 1QB league this year this is the price I would consider buying the 1.01 and I might sell for that as well.

I took Jacobs at 1.1, and then traded him for the 1.3 and a 2nd next year. I took harry at 1.3. You need to find a raiders fan to make that happen though

It seems like everyone wants to trade back, so it's hard to find a taker.

Yep

One of my leagues took like several days to get through 5 picks because everyone said something along the lines of:

I would want something substantial to move off of 1.01. I have Jacobs in a tier of his own, after much thought. He is the only first round RB. He has a 3 down skill set and size. The team that drafted him has a depth chart that does not provide much in the way of competition, and a HC with a history of using a bell cow. Jacobs is by far the most likely to produce due to his opportunity and predicted usage and the most likely to gain value after year 1, and I need somebody to pay if they want to take that away from me.

I moved from 1.02 to 1.08. Got Devonta Freeman, 2020 2nd, and the 1.08 which I turned into DJ Moore. Turned the 2020 2nd into Drew Locke and Ryquell Armstead. I actually traded the 1.02 to the 1.01 owner, because he valued Murray and Jacobs highly.

So overall the trade turned into 1.02 for Devonta Freeman, DJ Moore, Drew Lock, Ryquell Armstead

I would not move off of the 1.01 for anything less than value of another 1st+. Like 1.01 for 1.02 & 1.12 or 1.04 & 2020 1st or 1.06 & player you value at a 1st.

Had one copy of the 1.01.

Sent out an offer of my 1.01 for 1.06 + 2020 1st that was snap accepted.

TE premium league so I figured Montgomery would likely be there at 6 (he was) and the 2020 belongs to a mediocre team.
