Piling on as well. Mayock had Evans as his 3rd WR pre combine, behind Watkins & Lee, and he moved up to 2 after the combine.

and he had Evans at 7 of his top 100 prospects big board

I’m asking if a prospect like him would go 7th overall in the real life NFL, seeing how the league is seeming to really devalue the monster size/speed/“I’ll just Moss you” type of guys.

Granted, Mike Williams is one of those type of WRs and he did go that early 2 years ago, but I can’t help but think Hakeem Butler would have been a 1st round NFL pick, if he came out in say 2013.

Yes he would, easily. If prospects like Mike Evans came out every year they would too, but Mike Evans isn't an everyday prospect that comes along every year. Hakeem Butler isn't him nor was he as dominant. Who said the NFL has devalued guys like him? Based on what? The NFL isn't just taking any everyday big WR early. Mike Evans, AJG, Dez, etc type prospects aren't in abundance every year. When one is, he goes high accordingly. There is more to it than just size.

Warning the following post may contain a bit of hyperbole - but that is only to match some of the hyperbole given against this player over the past few years.

----

Mike Evans has his detractors. He does not get enough love. Whose name is not mentioned when we talk about the top WR?

It is not Michael Thomas.
It is not Tyreek Hill.
It is not Deandre Hopkins.
It is not Davante Adams.
It is not Cooper Kupp.
It is not Odell Beckham.

Each of those guys got their due.

It is Mike Evans who does not get mentioned.

Instead Mike Evans gets threads about whether he should have been drafted in the 1st round

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=183445

and even after 5 straight 1000 yard seasons people are ready to put Godwin over him

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=180126&hilit=godwin

and it seems only Phaded is willing to defend him

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=164266&p=1492202&hi ... s#p1492202

Time for the Mike Evans supporters to unite. Speak up.

Time for the haters to shut up. You can bash him in all the other threads. :P

Time for Mike Evans to have his due & be recognized as a potential candidate for the Top Dynasty WR.

You'll see my support in a moment.

That name always puts a smile on my face. He was #1 and I got him at #3. Watkins went 1 Hyde 2.

Haha, great post. I have owned him in both my leagues since his rookie year and I just sold him last week in one league in a package for Michael Thomas. I hated to lose 50% of my shares but I believe MT has many more years of Evans-like production ahead of him, and I expect Evans production to potentially peak sometime in the next 1-2 years (with Godwin's continuing progression and valid question marks about Wisnton's future with the Bucs). Per my ownership, I've always believed (and continue to believe) he is an ultra-top-tier dynasty WR . . . and while I hope that continues for another 2+ years, I made the tough decision to start diversifying away from him. He's an absolute stud no doubt, his ability to put up a 40-50 spot point showing in any situation is unmatched. I just question if those peak performances continue without Winston recklessly slinging it all over the yard.

Since 2014:

Mike Evans is 5th in total yardage for WRs whether you include 2019 or not.

http://pfref.com/tiny/UBCBm
http://pfref.com/tiny/nIaas

Mike Evans is 8th in total receptions for WRs

http://pfref.com/tiny/WEsne

Mike Evans is 3rd in TDs

http://pfref.com/tiny/6twlZ

Mike Evans is only one of 3 WRs with 5 straight 1000 yard seasons

http://pfref.com/tiny/bZWnw

Mike Evans is only one of 5 WRs with 5 straight 65+ reception seasons (15 more this season will make 6)

http://pfref.com/tiny/Ab0Pt

Mike Evans is WR #2 on the season now. or according to this tweet #1 in half ppr

https://twitter.com/DynastyFF_KyleM/sta ... 3482389505

Evans could tie or beat an Antonio Brown record - most games in 1 season with 180+ yards

I just recently acquired my first share and have the pleasure of pairing him with Godwin on a contending team so I don't have to pick one over the other! If I had to trade one though it would be Godwin, Evans is proven over the longterm, people panicked too quickly this year.

I own either him or Godwin in every league I'm in. Not sure I'm ready to say top dynasty asset, but he's not crazy far off either. Hopefully they extend Winston so we can all continue watching Tampa throw 50 times a game and supporting 2 wr1s.

He's been up there with the 1s for a while for me... I almost always have him in redraft bc he always goes behind guys like Keenan and Theilen and Diggs ...

Wish I had a dynasty share

He is certainly on his 2016 pace.

Don't see him as the top dynasty WR but I know I am enjoying his production this year as a high end WR1. Should be a lock to finish top 5 barring injury. He does have 3-4 tough match ups down the stretch but he is killing it right now.

I too have endured the ribbing of the Godwin owner in my league. "Nice to see TB's WR1 step up and have a game" after that miserable donut in week 5 and Godwin catching 2 TD's.

Days like today... well... they really make it all worthwhile, y'know?
