Just a general question on FAAB settings... Wondering what people use and what preference there is. Thanks.
In a league going into the 1st off-season, we have our rookie draft set up and then will have a FA period before the regular season to fill out rosters and grab guys on waivers. We have set a $100 budget for the post draft period that will end before regular season starts. Once the season starts we will reset back to $100 for the season.
#1 this isn't uncommon, right? I've never played FAAB so I was just wondering if anyone else had 2 periods of it where they reset the budget. Doesn't seem like a bad idea but it leads me to...
#2 what should be a FAAB tiebreaker? Draft order? Random? I ask because with this separate period, I am sure some owners might just bid the full $100 on the best player.
FAAB Question
Re: FAAB Question
Resetting the FAAB budget at seasons start isn’t uncommon (I commission two leagues and one league resets, the other doesn’t) but I prefer not resetting FAAB.
And the tie breaker that I use for both of my leagues is the first one to place the FAAB bid wins the bid.

I don't think that's possible to see on ESPN

Re: FAAB Question
I've seen plenty of other leagues that have separate offseason/inseason FAAB budgets. Mine just gives $200 for the full period (from right after the rookie draft until waivers lock in February).
For me, draft order is the tie-breaker all offseason, then inverse of standings once the season starts.

Re: FAAB Question
i'm not a big fan of two separate budgets, but it's not a big issue in deep leagues.
if there is actual value in free agency that can be a bit of a mess, especially because of the tie-breaker, as you suggest.
i'd use first to bid as tie-breaker. if that's not possible or considered not fair, reverse rookie draft order (enough chances given to bleep teams already!)
