Favorite late round Rookie fliers

Postby WOATjohn » Fri May 10, 2019 5:17 pm

In my team 1 I didn't have any early picks so I traded for a bunch of 4th rounders, and bid quite a bit on some rookies in our first waiver wire after the draft.
Guys I drafted:
Ryquell Armstead - Has a legit shot as the #2 back behind Fournette
Bruce Anderson - Skilled enough to take over the TB starting role
Alex Barnes - Henry is on his last year of his contract and Barnes is a beast
Ty Johnson - Could take over change of pace role in Detroit
Devine Ozigbo - Would love to see him get a shot in NO if one of the starters goes down
Tony Pollard - Backup for Zeke.. with that line, enough said
James Williams - Could fight for a role in the KC offense is worth a flier
Emanuel Hall - Was projected as an early NFL pick but dropped to a good offense.
Josh Oliver - Jags receiving corps is ugly, and Oliver is athletic

Any other big time fliers?
I am thrilled to have all of these guys as cheap fliers to fill out a starting lineup that I think can compete.

I recently grabbed Darwin Thompson as a flyer. I have Damien Williams on that team.

I've heard Hunter Renfro's name come up.

I see plenty of fournette hate on these forums. I’m surprised Armstead isn’t as hyped as he should be.

I think Mike Weber will be Zeke's backup. I believe Tony Pollard was drafted more for his special teams skill.

I don’t see either necessarily stepping into a huge role if zeke went down but I’d expect more carries for Weber.

I’ll be pretty surprised if Pollard is ever more than a complimentary back.

I really like Darwin Thompson. I think he will contribute right away as a joker type back.

Also, love some Miles Boykins. But he is all over the place, so maybe not 5th round availability. I got him with the last pick in the 2nd. But he may have made it through the 3rd into the 4th. And in another 5 rounder I did, he did not even get drafted. (But that draft included IDP) Anyway, if he is there late, must add.

Love Thompson for sure!!!

The Chiefs grabbed several UDFA WRs, and I really like Felton Davis if he recovers from his ruptured Achilles in October. He was (imo) likely playing himself into day 2 before the injury, and MSUs passing offense went from mediocre to downright terrible once he was out of the lineup.
Dynasty player since 2002.
I probably should have done something more productive with that time...

Gary Jennings Jr - if there's a baldwin replacement in the slot, it's this guy
Dexter Williams (should be the best williams in that backfield)
Foster Moreau - look at that TE depth chart
Devine Ozigbo - Latavius has had foot issues for years

Deeper - Dillon Mitchell - the vikings, not the steelers are the actual team with a recent track record of success in finding undiscovered gems at the WR position (not so great with first round talent, lol). also a very good organization about letting the best guys play regardless of locker room seniority politics
12 team ppr, 1 qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, 1 te, 2 flex
QB: Deshaun Watson, Marcus Mariota
RB: Ezekiel Elliott, Le'Veon Bell, Kerryon Johnson, Peyton Barber, Ronald Jones, Darwin Thompson
WR: Amari Cooper, Adam Thielen, Antonio Brown, Will Fuller, DeDe Westbrook, Robby Anderson, Marquise Goodwin, Justin Watson, Albert Wilson, Greg Dortch
TE: Travis Kelce, Vance McDonald, Kyle Rudolph, Delanie Walker, Ian Thomas, Gerald Everett

A couple of udfas that landed in decent locations:

Anthony Johnson, WR, TB - was highly touted coming into last year

Damarkus Lodge, WR, TB

Kelvin Harmon went undrafted in my league ... certainly worth a FA bid IMO ... I think he has an outside shot to develop into a Marques Colton.

Also like Lil Jordan Humphrey, WR, NO. The Saints have nobody outside of MT, so why not. Also, word on the street is they are trying Lil Jordan at TE as well. But
