More 2020 Hype: "If You Need A RB or WR, this is the draft for you."

I'd compare it to the Bears drafting Montgomery in the 3rd last year without a 1st or a 2nd. Maybe not quite the same, but with Pitt not having a 1st, why spend your 2nd on an RB when there are better values. If one of the top 3 RBs fall to them, I can understand a little.

Dobbins should 100% be there at 49 imo

I really think it’s a bad move for Pittsburgh to use their second round pick on a running back, but it seems like it’s happening. They interviewed most of the top RBs at the combine.

Why? They have a pretty good roster all around, and they aren't getting a QB at that pick as a future Ben replacement. Health permitting they are absolutely a contender, or at least right to believe they are, this year. They don't really have any glaring holes, but they are getting a bit older at QB obviously and along the Offensive and Defensive lines, but that could be even more reason to grab a RB who can help them right now and take advantage of this window they currently have.

They have 23 though, and could move up from there if they really wanted, the Steelers aren't going to be able to do much starting at 49.

If so I wouldn't hate the pick, but still think they have other areas to address. Dobbins would look good in that offense if it is back to form.

I suspect they’re going to pass on Jalen Hurts just like when they passed on Lamar Jackson in 2018.

It seemed crazy at the time. I still think it's a bad move for Pittsburgh, but you have to look at evidence as it comes in. The fact that they met with a bunch of running backs at the combine really suggests that they're going to take one.

Having said all that, I'm not sure Conner gets pushed out by anybody other than Swift/Taylor/Dobbins/Akers, and it seems like Swift will be gone before they have a chance to pick. Maybe they land one of those guys, or maybe it's CEH or Moss. Unfortunately, I don't think you can sell Conner unless it's for a pennies on the dollar price.

RB seems like one of the biggest team needs, as well as WR, especially if they intend to let juju walk.

The reality is the coach and GM of the Lions have 1 year to prove to ownership they are a playoff caliber team, so I don't see them drafting Tua or trading Stafford.

RB seems like one of the biggest team needs, as well as WR, especially if they intend to let juju walk.

Offensively it's certainly their biggest need, at least for the immediate future.

WR: Juju, Diontae, Washington
TE: McDonald and Ebron
OL is still one of the better ones in the league

Like I said earlier QB and OL are getting a little old, but the goal is to compete for a SB this year and a RB would help more with that than drafting a QB or OL at the picks they have. I fully expect them to take a RB in round 2 or 3.
