Heck if anything I think he's the most common choice at 1.01 if we were picking right now.

I am slightly leaning Taylor at the moment. It's close between he, Jeudy, and Swift. Very close

Wouldn't surprise me at all.

Tua
Herbert
Fromm
Eason
Love
Burrow

All have a shot to be (Tua and Herbert locks) 1st rounders, couple others that might throw their name in the hat by then too.

2020 Rookie Class

Postby KenAndTonic » Tue Oct 01, 2019 4:19 pm

After some tough luck to start the year, I’m already starting to think ahead to next year.

What is the early read on the draft class as a whole? Obviously, a lot can change between now and then, but is it expected to be deep? Heavy in any particular position? I started a new job over the summer and haven’t been able to follow as closely as I have the last few years.

Also, I’m trying to get a little younger while avoid a complete rebuild. Is AJ Green still worthy of a 1st round pick? Assuming I would trade him to a contender, so I’d be looking at the back half of the 1st. Is that too much? I love the guy’s talent, but the injuries are a major concern.

Based on what though? If you look at the early draft boards, Jerry Jeudy projects to have the highest draft capital of any non-QB in this class.

Positional scarcity and an elite 3-down skillset. Same reason a lot of people went Gurley over Cooper in 2015.

What’s the feeling on Ruggs? I haven’t watched Bama yet this year, but people are buzzing about he and Jeudy both going in Top 10 of NFL draft. That would have to place him as Top 5 dynasty prospect.

I like Ruggs prospect, but I woupd be very surprised to see him go top 10. There are at least a couple qbs, some nice defensive talent, and better wr/rbs than him. To be honest, i dont think i have seen him in the 1st yet, in any mocks. Though, that is not far fetched. Top 10, no, but he is a nice prospect overall.

Sorry, I was wrong. I’ve seen him Top 15. Still pretty impressive have two WR draft so high.

Swift is not a Gurley level prospect though. Meanwhile, Jeudy is a Cooper level prospect.

I'm not convinced he isn't, especially when factoring in that Gurley was coming off an ACL. I think you're mixing up Gurley the prospect and Gurley the overall RB1 a bit. Gurley had ADP of 21 in June 2015...I expect Swift will be somewhere similar.

You might not even be wrong, there are always late risers and big surprises come draft day. I respect a bold take or going out on a limb over just going with the consensus. Bama has so much talent that a lot of their "secondary" playmakers get overlooked.

Swift is good, but he hasn't mirrored Gurley as a prospect with or without the injury. People were talking about Gurley as a generational RB talent.
