Didn't it though?
I can't believe how that game turned right after I posted. Now I don't know if I'm more down on Sanders' usage or Darnold's play.

I mean unless the coaching staff is seeing something different in practice.JFever wrote: ↑Mon Oct 11, 2021 6:44 am This usage is criminal. I can only assume that people will lose jobs over this approach if it continues.
Regardless where some on these boards are with their opinion on Sanders, this run / pass descrepincy and playcalling is incredibly unbalanced and Hurts looks overwhelmed more often than he looks competent as an NFL starter.
Sanders is basically unstartable in fantasy along with all offensive players until further notice.
Right? I'm wondering what they could be seeing in practice that could justify their approach. There seems to be zero balance in their offensive attack. Is it a statistical anomaly that will balance out? Do they really intend to run an offense that barely runs the ball at all? It is quite strange and ultimately not very productive. If Darnold hadn't screwed up, the Eagles would not have won that game. I guess time will tell.abloom wrote: ↑Mon Oct 11, 2021 7:19 amI mean unless the coaching staff is seeing something different in practice.JFever wrote: ↑Mon Oct 11, 2021 6:44 am This usage is criminal. I can only imagine the playbook is fairly limited with Hurts in there. I didn't watch the game, but his yards per attempt was atrocious. If he can't throw beyond 2 yards of the line of scrimmage the run game is going to get smothered. That ypa isn't forcing anyone to respect the passing game. If Hurts can develop into a passer, it would greatly benefit Sanders fantasy production.JFever wrote: ↑Mon Oct 11, 2021 10:04 amRight? From what I've read (haven't watched the games) they run a bunch of RPO's and Hurts is just deciding its "his" ball on all of them whether its a run or pass. That does still seem like its largely a coaching problem to have let it go on this much without changing up the playcall or having a chat to Hurts that he can't have every run.CGW wrote: ↑Mon Oct 11, 2021 10:14 amI can only imagine the playbook is fairly limited with Hurts in there. Sanders is fine from a talent aspect. He's not elite and he's not situation proof. This team isn't any good and the coaching isn't any good. Tough to trust any of the eagles for fantasy in the near term.

Miles Sanders was targeted 5 times in Week 5. His Air Yards on those 5 targets:
-8
-6
-6

-6
That's -32 air yards, which resulted in 5 catches for 6 yards.
Mind boggling
