if we restrict our dynasty analysis to DLF and this forum, yes, Seastrunk was some kind of greek god...he was nay-sayed in plenty of places before hand.

Butler has been a top asset everywhere i've been following. he would have been my 1.01.

i think this bears only a passing similarity to seastrunk.

I love early drafts because it forces people to do their own homework before the NFL helps them. Unfortunately, this was probably the worst year ever to do one. I'd argue this is worse than Lache. As mentioned, Butler was going 1.01 in rookie ADP and he's still available in the 5th round

It's a monumental error by the dynasty community.

agree on all counts--for every parris campbell there is a faller but...wow...i don't recall misalignment of community expectation and draft so severe as this one.

part of doing your own homework, though, is knowing when its a year to plow in (2017) and when it's a year to tread cautiously. i think we had all the info we needed, for example, that 2019 was a year that landing spot was going to rend the RB world asunder.

Exactly, I traded a future 3rd for the 4.01 and 4.02 and took Seastrunk and Storm Johnson!!! He was no where near the 1.01 conversation.

i suppose it also bears mentioning that this story is far from written. Butler could go in round 4 and have a great career. we'll know today.

I had him a sight higher than that so first pick in the 4th to go catch passes from Kyler Murray makes me very, very happy.

1 pick is all it takes to make a difference. The Cardinals are definitely showing they plan to surround Murray with weapons.

This will be a perfect test for talent vs. situation vs. draft pedigree.

Hakeem Butler was highly regarded by many going into the draft, and has landed in a decent to good situation with a QB that he can develop with, but at a draft pedigree that suggests odds are still risky of long term success.

So what will the owners who remain fans of Butler do? Should be an interesting draft season.

I don't see what everybody's freaking out about. He was the first pick of the 4th round. Yeah he went on Day 3 but if he even goes 1 pick higher than he's a Day 2 pick which most pegged for him anyway? He's going to a team that clearly wants to have an up-tempo passing offence with an offensive minded head coach and gets to learn from one of the greatest WRs in league history for a year. Kirk and Isabella fill a different role on the team and once Larry retires, Butler will likely be their best outside option.

It feels a lot better now that we have a solid landing spot.

We can sugar coat this and say that the d and oline pools were deep but nfl teams want offensive skill players. The fact that these dynasty nuggets are falling into the fourth round is not good. And kind of like butler.
