I'm a convinced, full throttle believer now. Hollywood is ready for his starring role.

[Brown's] biggest problem is the way the offense uses him, and how his QB has trouble being the kind of pure passer that makes WRs look good.

I love Lamar, but this is his fourth season and he has yet to produce a standout season for any WR. In recent years, no other young QB labeled as "great" has failed to produce a T20WR season and/or a 1000yd/and-or/10TD WR.

This isn't to say Lamar isn't one of the best QBs in the league. It's just that either his style and/or the playcalling is NOT conducive to producing WRs with great fantasy stats. It's easy to blame the Ravens' WRs over the past few seasons but that's lazy analysis to me. In 2016 with the same coaching staff and even worse WRs, Flacco produced a 1K WR in Mike Wallace, and in 2015 the WR legend Kamar Aiken had 944 yds.

I'm not saying Brown is blameless or that Lamar is not great. I'm just saying that if Lamar was playing in AZ or Buffalo he'd probably be thought of as a much better WR than he is considered to be in Baltimore.

I would like to make a public apology to Lamar Jackson. Ten days later and I have changed my mind. Completing 86% of your passes (37/43) for 442yds and 4TDs proves to me that Lamar might be on the verge of a breakout as a pure passer. Lamar has completed over 75% of his passes in games before, but never on this kind of volume. Usually his high % games are a 19/23 or 20/25 performance.

Through five games, 2021 is so far the best season for completion % of Lamar's career, though admittedly by only a little. But if he can keep this up, it will mean great success for his receivers. Especially the best wide receiver on the team, Brown.
