I'm feeling very excited about this guy this morning!

Feel a jahvid best type week 1. Let's hope that's the only similarities
QB - DWatson(HOU)Minshew(JAX)Darnold(NYJ)
RB -NChubb(CLE)DHenry(TEN)JTaylor(IND)Gurley(ATL)
WR -DHopkins(ARI)ACooper(DAL)CGodwin(TB)OBJ(CLE)
TE - HHenry(SD)DGoeddart(PHI)
K - Zurlien(LAR)Crosby(GB)
Def - ARI DAL
[rookie] Haskins(WAS)DSwift(DET)Jefferson(MIN)MHardman(KC)
7th pick in 2021

Rosters must always be 3qbs 4wrs 4rbs 2tes 2kickers 2dst and protected players don't take up a roster spot, but are only for rookie/2nd-year players that were drafted

So M. Brown didn't practice today. The foot again, apparently.

To review:

- depth-chart listed with third-team offense
- dressed fourth preseason week, performed awful
- missed nearly all prep for the season
- offense appears set to focus on TEs rather than WRs
- and the latest development, the foot is still iffy

All this, and yet I keep seeing people (not just in this thread) convinced Brown is going to start, see lots of snaps, and be immediately useful in fantasy. Not to mention that the assumption Lamar will suddenly transform into a radically improved passer this year remains... sketchy.

I know some of y'all love the guy, and I myself don't hate his college tape or anything, but considered objectively, factoring all the elements of this situation, it's reasonable to project that Brown will catch something like 20-30 passes as a rookie. Right now, there's just nothing rational here pointing to Brown making an immediate impact.

So, I drafted Hollywood one week ago with the full intention of A) not expecting anything from him this year, and B) drafting talent over situation. I drafted him because, despite the negative developments, I like his talent and am committing to it for the long haul. I agree that there are people who are way too optimistic on him for this year, but I guess I'm just serving a reminder that there are plenty of us who still love Hollywood but are more realistic about the near-term future. I might be wishing for him to come firing out of the gate, but I'm certainly not expecting it.

Also, one other point to dispute. That article you cited is from March 7th, well before the Ravens decided to spend their first TWO offensive picks on WRs (the 1st on Hollywood and the 3rd on Boykin). Things can change fast. I do expect a lot of 2-TE sets from the Ravens regardless, but not because of something the coach said back in March.
10-team standard, 18-man rosters (plus K/D + 1 IR + 2 TAXI)
1QB | 2RB | 2WR | 1TE | 1FLEX
2021: 8-6, 5th (AP: 76-50 / 60.3%, 3rd) ||| Runner-up
2022: 5-1, 2nd (AP: 47-7 / 87.0%, 1st)

QB: Hurts, Russ, Carr
RB: Chubb, Pierce, Swift, JRob, D'Ernest, Ford
WR: Diggs, Evans, GDavis, Nuk, Keenan, Hollywood, Mooney, CSamuel, Doubs
TE: Kelce, Dulcich, Fant
2023 Picks: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th
2024 Picks: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th

Sadly even when he gets healthy and acclimated he will still be 166 pounds. I own him because he fell into my lap in the early third, so I’m rooting for him, but I will be selling if he ropes together a few solid games. The size is a major problem.

Rapaport:

#Ravens WR Marquise “Hollywood” Brown (foot) is listed as questionable, but expect him to play today vs. the #Dolphins, source said. The first-rounder likely will start.

Weight has no correlation to NFL success at the WR position, especially in today's league where players are much more protected and offenses have adapted more concepts that favor smaller receivers.

Another example of people who don't watch games creating lazy narratives.

Imagine thinking Hakeem Butler is better at football than Marquise Brown.
