Just took him at 2.3 in my draft- think it is great value
Re: Marquise Brown is the best value in the draft
Wouldn’t call that value. He is pretty raw especially since they just signed Floyd. That said, I like his value in 2-3 years.Smoking Guns wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2019 5:59 pm Just took him at 2.3 in my draft- think it is great value
If your talking Brown that was a steal IMO

Traded the 1.3 (Sanders) for the 1.7 (Samuel) and 2.3 (Brown)

It does say best value, not best.

Re: Marquise Brown is the best value in the draft
I actually agree with JTLoh. Getting Boykin late 2nd or early 3rd in 1QB leagues is great value. He's got good draft capital, insane athleticism and although he broke out late, had a great final season. What more could you want from that range of rookie pick.

Re: Marquise Brown is the best value in the draft
Brown went 1.4 in my league. I was eyeing him at either 1.7 or 1.9, but he was long gone
Re: Marquise Brown is the best value in the draft
I've been able to acquire/draft 4 shares of Marquise Brown so far.
Please speak to clarion contrarion before considering the use of vetos..
Re: Marquise Brown is the best value in the draft
If M. Brown is falling into the 2nd round of drafts, I'd have no problem picking him there...when he's going 1.03 in both a 2QB + SF of mine...that I'm not going to do.
Food for thought, even with 2 Heisman winning, #1 Overall Pick QBs...Brown's Market Share Score*** (while not terrible/awful/bad) was no better than John Ross' at Washington. Sure, Brown also had competition from Mark Andrews for one year, and CD Lamb for two, yet, Ross also had competition from dynasty darling Dante Pettis in his breakout year...with a lot worse QB play.
This isn't a post to say I'm not drafting Brown, but don't have a strong gut feeling that he's going to be "fantastic".

Definitely a fair point and raises at least a question that should be addressed / answered. But I believe Chubb experienced similar question marks coming out of Georgia after sharing the load with Michel.Servo wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2019 8:25 am If M. Sometimes really good college (and then pro) players split workloads with other really good college (and then pro) players. And that Oklahoma offense, and their QBs, are pretty good at spreading the ball around.

Re: Marquise Brown is the best value in the draft
"ESPN Ravens reporter Jamison Hensley noted "several" of Jackson's passes "wobbled through the air" at the first week of OTAs. And Jackson agreed that things just aren't right yet from an accuracy standpoint. "It's been crazy. It's been everywhere," Jackson said of his throws. "I feel like my hand is a little too high on the football and that makes the ball go out of whack a lot." The Ravens are changing up their whole offense under new OC Greg Roman, and at the same time, Jackson is obviously trying to fix his mechanics to become a better passer in a passing league. It's going to be a work in progress and something that may truly never get totally fixed." - Rotoworld

Re: Marquise Brown is the best value in the draft
Trying to fix your mechanics in year 2 of your NFL career is not a good thing. I just don't have any faith in Lamar ever becoming a good passer. Scheming and using his athletic ability to try and find ways to get him easier throws is what will probably happen. He has a lot of speed around him. It's going to be hard to predict week to week. For Brown, I think he will be a volatile player to start. Best Ball is a better format to draft him IMO.Servo wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2019 9:16 am "ESPN Ravens reporter Jamison Hensley noted "several" of Jackson's passes "wobbled through the air" at the first week of OTAs. When I saw this, I thought, "Awesome. When Jackson fails his WRs, Brown looks like a bust because they can't get him the ball, Boykin doesn't get any targets because there aren't any more leftover, I'm gonna buy Brown for a 2020 2nd and Boykin for a 4th.Servo wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2019 9:16 am "ESPN Ravens reporter Jamison Hensley noted "several" of Jackson's passes "wobbled through the air" at the first week of OTAs.
