*PVP POLL* Dante Pettis (3/26/19)

Probably one of the more polarizing young WRs in the league. I see him as a more unproven Keenan Allen, with some flashes of Golden Tate. Others see him as a much lower-ceiling player, with the career ceiling of being a WR2/3.

For me - I have him in the mid 2nd range.
Just cannot bring myself to cough up a 1st for the guy, just not a fan.

I think the fact that SF didn’t add anyone significant in free agency keeps him firmly in the 1st round

Probably late 1st but possibly mid depending on your league & whether you’re buying or selling

There’s still the risk that they spend a high draft pick on a WR but SF seems to have big plans for him. They traded up to get him, they showed that they know how to use him, and he showed what he can do when utilized properly

I wanted to click the 6-9 range but I couldn't... I like him a lot too but the 10-12 range seems more of my kind of offer for him. If you are a strong believer, then a mid 1st isn't a bad price in this class

I'm cautiously high on Pettis. I'm a little worried about what SF might do in the draft, but as of now, indications are both Lynch and Shanahan envision big things for Pettis.

As for the question of talent, the rookie tape is promising, particularly the route-craft. He's a long strider that still gets his hips really low into his breaks, which is rare. He's a threat at all three levels with a full route tree. The potential to become a high target volume X receiver is real (and Shanahan has had a lot of those). I'd like to see him get to a playing weight of 200lbs and stay there, though.

I believe he was normally drafted in the early to mid 2nds of rookie drafts and has done enough to show he is worth more than his original draft cost - so I voted 1.10-1.12. Thanks for another PVP poll.

I voted 1.01-1.02. I understand that may seem absurd to most, but I'm really excited by Pettis' prospects.

He is already excellent at the fundamentals of being a WR: nuanced and fluid route runner, fantastic ball adjustment/coordination and has sure hands. I see Stefon Diggs upside.

In a challenging rookie year where he dealt with some injury concerns himself on top of being forced to catch passes from the back up (or back up to the back up) QB he went 27/467/5 on 45 targets. This includes a game where he caught 4/6 for 12 yards and a long catch of 8 against the Giants

With Jimmy back, it is not at all unreasonable to think he could see 90-100 targets, as the last 6 games he played in 2018 he averaged a 99 target pace. I predict a nice 65/950/7 season from him.

I voted the same. I think he probably profiles more a the 2nd guy, and would actually flourish more, with that. I'm not sure he's a true X, but I think he's a really good player.

I would wait to buy him until after the draft. San Fran is a prime target to draft a WR high. Which will inevitably bump Pettis down a little. I would not pay a top 6 pick in this draft. Voted 1.10-1.12, and even then I'd probably have reservations because I'd rather have Fant/Hock over him straight up.

I am very excited for Dante Pettis, but I think an early and mid first round pick can allow you to draft a bigger WR, someone who's more likely to be the team's number one, or a starting RB. That and Pettis being hurt last year have capped what I'd pay to acquire him.

I love his game though. I hope he & Garrappalo are healthy for all 16 games this season so we can really see them shine.

I’m on board with paying a late 1st for him. Love the talent and current opportunity he has. As long as SF doesn’t draft a WR high in the draft, he’s a breakout player for me.

I can see a 70/950/6 line in 16 games.

i don't think they take one at 2..(hard to see them trading down if bosa is on board) and didn't they trade their second for dee ford?

outside of that I believe they only have 5 picks.. so it would have to be in the 3rd that they grab someone.
