More I think, more Donta Foreman is the only RB really worth buying low. People mention Breida, Barber, Hyde, etc ... But this 2020 class coming up has a chance to be historic. Donta Foreman is the only guy I think with the abilities and the situation and the age to really take a job for good this year and make his team pass on the plethora of talent next year. Way I see it, there's no way in hell that Arians isn't drafting one of the running backs next year, simply because Barber is *not* that good a running back. Barber is fine. He has good balance, finds the hole, finishes hard, is OK as a receiver.... he just doesn't do anything really great. Arians is going to want a difference maker.

Foreman can be a difference maker. He is special enough in terms of size/speed, and now will have a chance this year to take it. He kind of gets a pass for the achilles. Much as I would love my Taylor and Dobbins etc shares to be Watson's RB1, Foreman is good enough to make Houston spend on other needs.

Just my opinion... I'm often wrong.

As a Foreman owner (not necessarily a truther), I sure hope you're right!

Odds are against him, especially as a bigger / heavier RB. I know it shouldn't count for much (or at all), but I've been very impressed with what I've read & seen about him this off-season. He completely changed his diet, his workout routine, and he's really dedicating himself & applying himself this year. He looks like he's slimmed down ~10 pounds from his rookie year, which should help him in his recovery.

I also worry about his pass-catching abilities. He was never used as a receiving back in college (I think he had a total of 15 catches or so) or the NFL (8 total catches).

I do think he can overtake Miller as the primary ball-carrier, and best case scenario includes him flashing real upside as a runner. But even then, Houston would likely move on from Miller in the off-season and bring in a passing-game specialist to split work with him moving forward.

The more trades I see this offseason on Rashaad Penny the more I think he's a great buy low. I see people getting him for 2nd round picks and I think getting any RB drafted in the 1st round with a 2nd round rookie pick is a steal. The is a TON of opportunity in Seattle even with Carson there, if Carson goes down you're looking at a back that could approach Zeke levels of volume.

I have tried, and tried, and tried to persaude myself he could be Atlanta's next lead after Free is done.

I just don't see it on the tape. Collegiate or pro. I'm not sure I've ever seen a sub-200lbs scatback with balance and agility as poor as his. Watch him whenever he cuts; note how labored he looks doing it, like he almost stumbles. He doesn't actually fall down, but he does slow down, and typically it results in pursuit catching him from behind. I could maybe forgive this in a conventional power-back, but a scatback that can't fluidly change direction at speed is a red flag for me.

I like Hill more than Smith and Ollison.
