Chris Godwin

Chris Godwin seems to be flying under the radar a bit. He appears to be around people's WR5/6.

I really like this guy. He has excellent size and speed with great hands. Great metrics and solid tape too.

I think this guy could be really good in the NFL. Is WR5/6 in this class right?

I also read he's visiting with Detroit, NYJ, Titans, Philadelphia, Baltimore and has already met with Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay and New Orleans. What spot is his best landing spot?

I like him...it might be early to tell but depending on landing spot I am eyeing him up for my 1.11...

Detroit would be crowded with Tate and Jone
Jets=Yuck
Titans would be nice, but I think they take either Davis or Williams in the 1st.
Philly-Not terrible, but is crowded for next year. Depends on if Alshon stays healthy and shows that he is a stud that the eagles should invest in long term.
Baltimore-Dont love it, but dont hate it. They cant seem to draft a WR to save their life tho.
Pitt- I like it, playing opposite of AB never hurt anyone
TB- There would be alot of mouths to feed there with Evans and D-Jax...i dont see it
N.O- Playing with Brees does wonders...look what it did for Michael Thomas

Maybe it's who I follow on Twitter but he's definitely not flying under the radar there. Might need a TE run to push him outside the top 10.

Yeah, in a lot of those situations immediate impact is limited as he'd be competing for the 3rd spot. Never a bad thing in dynasty to wait on your WRs. But, in a shallow league such as mine it's nice to get some immediate ROI. I think this kid could be something special though if he lands in the right spot.

Yeah, I agree. He's definitely not flying under the radar. Wasn't there a poll not long ago asking who was WR5 or something, and Godwin was leading?

5 seems under the radar. Personally I like him less than only Corey Davis.

I don't think he is flying under that radar at all, personally. He seems to be fairly hyped everywhere I look. We will see in a few weeks where it all shakes out.

My phone sucks...spell checker
..anyhow he is an easy 1st rounder...I'd take him right after Williams, Davis and Ross if the landing spot is right

I think he's been well on the radar for about a month or so since the combine now.

Twitter loves him, these boards like him, guys like Matt Kelley love him, so he's (rightfully) getting more attention.

Personally he's my WR3, and I'm going to target him with the 1.11 in one draft (unless OJH falls to me at that spot, then I take OJH).

wouldn't call him under-rated, getting plenty of hype - recently saw him comp'd to watkins and cooper. harmon is a fan and been blowing his horn. most clued in now will have him 1st round now, after draft assuming good landing spot he'll be a lock there. wouldn't be shocked to see him pass the likes of ross and JSS.

whats the obsession with chris godwin?

seems like many around these parts are so high on chris godwin and i just cant understand it.... i mean i just saw a poll that had godwin a favorite to greg olsen essentially 20-3 in favor of godwin... i was shocked at those results. I would easily take the guy who has top 30 scoring potential over a guy whos ceiling is a low end wr 2 (which i would be shocked if this guy ends up being a fantasy wr2). On top of this he has been posted about so many times just cant understand why everyone is trying to acquire this guy. He is an athlete ill give him that but hes like 4th in line for targets at best... i just dont see what everyone else seems to be seeing. please help explain the love affair i would love to be enlightened !

While I am not that high on Godwin, it is entirely possible that some feel that Godwin could become the #2 target in TB once DJax departs/retires (ie leapfrog Brate/Howard). And while TEs can play longer than WRs, Olsen is certainly much closer to the end of his career and already has a job in the broadcast booth waiting for him.

I would certainly agree that Olsen has more upside this year than Godwin, but after this year who know?

He finished pretty strong last season and plays really fast but in that system he will be wildly inconsistent IMO likely to lose as many fantasy games as win them when in the lineup. He is worth a roster spot but not really the type of player I would target.

My guess is people like him due to his size speed ratio but with Evans and Jackson and pretty good TE's I would not spend too much on the guy personally. He did have two high target games and a couple of 6 target games. My guess is he will get around 75-80 targets this year which doesn't impress much. His value could increase in 2019 if he continues to improve.

Agreed. I think most view Olsen as a one and done. My expectation is that he retires after this season. If you had a stacked roster and were a TE short of winning it all, I would prefer Olsen. But if I know I am not truly competing, I am taking Godwin and the longevity. Now if Olsen had made it known he was playing for 3 more years, I bet that poll would be closer.
