oj howard or jordan?

are those players youre receiving just depth or starters?

I think that is a fair price as a Barkley owner

Some depth, some starters. Thin at RB with only Chubb and AP/Gore/Guice left

I wish I could force you.. if this was a year ago, it would be easy but time has changed a lot on the pieces you would be receiving. I know it sounds crazy, but I wouldn't take it - I agree with selling Barkley but not for those pieces.

For context, a trade went down in one of my leagues yesterday, it was Barkley & Diggs for MT & Godwin. I thought that one was fair and a matter of team need / preference.

Anyone worried about Saquon?

Postby waynesworld1234 » Mon Nov 11, 2019 1:29 pm

It's been hard to watch this season as he's continuously hit at the line of scrimmage. He had a few more negative yardage plays last season as he bounced it outside, but at least he was given an opportunity to hit the home run. Just feels like his desire to turn it up field to take what's there has taken him out of his element. I want to blame the coaching, but coaching doesn't get much worse than Cleveland and Chubb is able to string together good runs against good defenses. So, are the Giants really that bad at getting the most out of Barkley? Is he injured? Or, is he a supremely gifted athlete better suited for a Kamara type role in the Saints offense?

He's a generational talent who's prime will likely be wasted in NY.

I am guessing injured. He still had plenty of bounce before the high ankle sprain. With how fast he came back it is highly unlikely he is 100%. From what I saw of the game yesterday the offensive line looked really bad. Jets weren't even stacking the box and there were never holes for him.

I am not worried about him at all long term. This season is starting to look like a lost year for him however. It wouldn't be surprising if they shut him down at some point.

The giants are at fault here for rushing him back. All for what exactly? Giants have turned into a dumpster fire these last five years or so with constant mismanagement.

Never owned him but if I did I would be concerned. His price is way too high to buy.
Team is not good at running the ball
Scheme fit is a bit questionable.

I would explore selling if I owned him.

11 out of 13 carries he was contacted behind the LOS.

He's definitely banged up but that O-line went from below par to burning diarrhea after the recent injuries. You can't have success like that.

I'd imagine the Giants will focus on the OL in the off season, with a young franchise QB and a talent like Barkley. This year could be tough sledding, but he's still the most talented back in the league.

Am I worried about him this year? Yes. I hope they shut him down the rest of the year and just gear up for next season at this stage.

Am I worried about him next year and beyond? Nope. He hasn't looked the same since that ankle injury. I'm willing to bet he is still injured and not 100%. If the Giants shore up that line, Daniel Jones is a year older, and hopefully their receiving weapons are healthy, that team could look a lot better.

However it's the Giants so I'm sure they will mess it up.

Barkley is going to have some great years. For my money, he's going to be a HOF RB.

However, and this is what always needs to be remembered about RB's: None of them are situation-proof. It's why I would never recommend paying a king's ransom to get an RB. RB's get injured and their offensive lines get worse.

How high ankle sprains typically work.

1) Player gets high ankle sprain
2) News report that recovery time is about 6 weeks
3) Player comes back in 3-4 weeks
4) Player is much less effective the rest of the year
5) Player's value drops in offseason
6) Player bounces back next year at full strength and everyone wonders why they didn't buy him

Granted, I think Barkley has enough name value that his value won't really drop like most people's, but if it makes him simply available to trade for even at full price than I am a buyer.

All this "look Saquon is dancing in practice after only 3 weeks he must be 100%!!" stuff was silly. You can dance the day after an ankle sprain. Sharp unpredictable cuts? No as much and certainly not as quickly.
