Who does OAK sign at RB?
Re: Who does OAK sign at RB?
Oh - I also literally forgot DeAndre Washington was still a thing too.
Re: Who does OAK sign at RB?
How about CJ Anderson? Sounds like he's not going back to the Rams. He just turned 28 and pretty much had a whole year of little use, he should have some tread left on the wheels.

Re: Who does OAK sign at RB?
He was briefly on the Raiders last year, they apparently were not impressed and cut him - so I don't see it.
Re: Who does OAK sign at RB?
I could see Crowell eventually signing a min-deal there. He just turned 26.

Gruden liked Thunder (Wheatley), Lightning (Garner), and a short yardage specialist (Crocket).

Re: Who does OAK sign at RB?
This sounds plausible but starting to think they fill the starting RB need with an early draft pick. Jacobs or Sanders would fit this team well. Crowell would offer solid depth if his medical checks out. Doesn't have the best feet.

Re: Who does OAK sign at RB?
There are options out there. It’s crazy to me that the likes of Crowell and Yeldon are still unemployed. While not world beaters they would provide good depth for a team.
Re: Who does OAK sign at RB?
Yes hard to know if it is an issue of money, the team(s) waiting to see how the draft plays out, or if it is the players (or their agents) doing that.
Please speak to clarion contrarion before considering the use of vetos..

They may have to wait for the NFL draft. Hell, maybe for the preseason like Peterson last year.

Re: Who does OAK sign at RB?
Agree. They are both serviceable backs but neither are legit 3 down players at this point so the value to spend big or even early in FA is pretty standard for these type players.Pullo Vision wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2019 6:11 amThey may have to wait for the NFL draft. Both will find a home at some point.

Decision on Lynch will come post-draft, apparently.

Re: Who does OAK sign at RB?
Oakland would be a natural trade partner for Jordan Howard. He would be a perfect hammer to pair with Richard in a 1-2 punch backfield. If Chicago is truly going to move on they will probably not get much more than a mid round pick. Oakland certainly has the ammo and Howard is a proven asset which is a big Gruden MO. Oakland would have him cheap for this coming season and would control his rights next year via Tender as well. As a Bears fan I'd be sad to see Howard go but would be happy if he finds a home where he'd be wanted.

I really hope they do not trade for Howard.

Me too. But it would definitely add to the offseason of "interesting."

Re: Who does OAK sign at RB?
This would surprise me. Doesn't seem like a system fit to me.
Howard is decent runner but this team is looking to increase game speed IMO. This team really needs a 3 down solution and with so many players needed all over I think they will want to draft a player that can run and catch the ball so they don't tip their hand too much in games. A first round RB is certainly not out of the question with this team. Gruden has a strong history of using the same RB to run and catch. If one goes back in time a bit, Gruden was a big fan of Cadillac Williams.
Jacobs or Sanders could be the target for this team and they won't have to reach too high for either player. That said, one never really knows with the Raiders.
