I’m not nervous about him. I get where you are coming from, “in a way”, I know there’s a chance his numbers will regress some, but even if they do, I honestly think he’s a lock for top 10 RBs in PPR. Personally, I value Hunt ahead of Fournette and it’s close between he and Kamara. Now, I’m not talking “pure talent” but situation means so much and Reid’s RBs generally get a lot of touches and I don’t see his usage changing much at all.

All I'm seeing from the "nay-sayers" is a gut feeling... I'd love to see some hard data to support a regression. If I had to pinpoint RBs I'd be nervous about, Hunt isn't in the conversation. DJ and Cook coming off injuries. Bell (if you think he will hold out). Gurley regression (same gut feeling). Barkley has no chance to live up to expectations. Mixon's subpar rookie season. Fournette's injured past. The list could go on. IMO, Hunt is one of the safest bets about the top 5 RBs.

The Quarterback will lead to the regression, and he won't be the RB1 unless there are a slew of injuries to the top backs, IMO. Smith was extremely efficient most of the year last year, Mahomes will not be able to lead the offense to that efficiency year 1.

The KC O-line started the 2017 season absolutely destroying people. From weeks 4-16, Hunt had a 4.11 ypc average. During weeks 4-16 of the 2016 season, Spencer Ware had a 4.16 ypc average. The reality is if Ware had not been injured, this thread would not even exist. It would not surprise me if some sort of RBBC of Hunt/Ware takes place this season with Hunt's workload decreasing somewhat from last year.

I agree, IF Ware is healthy. Even 5 touches a game matters, plus I don't see them being as efficient with the QB switch. Hunt is a good RB, but his numbers will almost certainly regress somewhat, in my eyes. He still should be top 10, though.

This is a presumption that I do not agree with. Ware was pressed into an RBBC role in 2015 due to injuries to Jamaal Charles. He only remained in that role because the Chiefs were holding out for Charles to be healthy in 2016 and he wasn't. Had that been known much earlier, the Chiefs would have drafted their starter in the 2016 draft. Instead they had to wait a year and it happened in 2017. Off season reports said that Ware was the "starter" but that is always the case with the veteran until the rookie gets their feet under them. Injury to Ware or not, Hunt was going to be the starter in week 1.

Why? Because you say so?..haha

There is not a huge difference between Hunt and Ware. Ware will get touches this season and Hunt owners should be concerned as a result.

I’m worried if I am expecting Hunt to be the reason I win a championship this year.

I am not worried if I drafted him early in the summer of 2017, and he’s my RB3 or RB4.

I expect 1200-1300 yards from scrimmage, 40 catches, and 8-9 TDs

"No huge difference" why because you say so?

Hunt isn't worlds above Ware but I believe he is definitely better than Ware. I'm expecting slight regression but also expecting the chiefs to run even more this year, Ware may spell him on the odd drive but Reid has generally been about 1 bell cow and I don't see that changing. He's a lock for me to finish between 6-10 and one of the safest backs to own

If there are any gut feelings in this thread this is it. This is seems like a reach to me with a very small chance of actually happening. I’m ok with the argument that he could put up better numbers than Cook, but if everyone else stays healthy I don’t see anyway he hasn’t better numbers than Gurley, Zeke, Bell, Kamari, Fournette to start, so rb6 at best assuming he is a 3 down back.

The only thing to be nervous about Hunt is injury. He already has a rushing title only having to play one quarter the last week to do it. This season he should be more involved in the passing game.

He certainly could finish this season as the top back in the league. The weapons on that team will ensure he faces 7 in the box all season. Ware is zero threat other than to give him a bit of rest a few series a game.

Obviously, Bell, Zeke, Gurley , and maybe Johnson will give him a run but Hunt is a premier RB in a fantastic situation this season.
