Buy/Sell/Hold - 49ers backfield
I've seen the 'Where Does Tevin Coleman Go?' thread which is has understandably turned into a discussion of which RBs will still be on the roster by the start of the season & how things will shake out
But with the key date being June 1st - we're likely a long way away of finding out what happens in SF
My question is much more simple:
As of TODAY, what are you doing with these RBs?
Buy/Sell/Hold? & what is their new price (assuming it has changed)?
- Coleman
- McKinnon
- Breida
- Mustard
- Wilson? (probably worthless but I felt the need to include him)
I own Coleman in all 5 leagues. I never truly thought he would land a bellcow role, but I didn't envision a such a huge (potential) split
Now I'm considering selling but have no idea what his (or the others') price should be?
My first offer was the 11th rookie pick (2.01 of a 10tm PPR league in which Tevin is my RB4)

Re: Buy/Sell/Hold - 49ers backfield
I would absolutely take the 11th rookie over Tevin Coleman.
Your only other option would be to wait until mid-season, hope for injuries to the other guys, and then sell Coleman. But even then, you might get, what - a top 8 rookie pick?
I would sell now for the 11th pick, if you can.

Re: Buy/Sell/Hold - 49ers backfield
I agree with this. I would be hoping to sell everyone in that backfield, but I wouldn't be trying to force the issue. I'd probably want about the 10th - 12th rookie pick for any of them.lukkynumber13 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 12:34 pm I would absolutely take the 11th rookie over Tevin Coleman.

Re: Buy/Sell/Hold - 49ers backfield
The problem is that this is all subjective to what you could get.
I would sell any of them for any first - maybe an early 2nd.
If I had McKinnon I would hold, I think he was the better pass catching back but who knows if his athleticism was compromised.
I would buy either of them for a late 2nd.
Breida - meh. JAG.

I'm selling McKinnon for about any first I can get, knowing my luck right after he is off my roster he will be traded to the Bucs of bears...

Re: Buy/Sell/Hold - 49ers backfield
Yeah, I traded him in 2 leagues a few weeks ago
One was Mckinnon+Enunwa+1.08 for Christian Kirk + 1.05
The other was McKinnon+Landry+future 1st for Keenan Allen
Feels good at the moment (especially since Landry's target share might also be going down) but you're right, I'm sure he'll end up in a good spot and make me regret it

Re: Buy/Sell/Hold - 49ers backfield
I'd easily take Coleman over the 1.11 in a draft with no depth and limited talent. You're at least getting an RB2 with some RB1 upside against the right matchups. This backfield is a mess, but one thing is clear right now: Tevin Coleman is going to play a lot. They just signed him and he knows the offense.lukkynumber13 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 12:34 pm I would absolutely take the 11th rookie over Tevin Coleman.

It's really just a matter of who's gone (or sits) between McKinnon and Breida.

Re: Buy/Sell/Hold - 49ers backfield
McKinnon is the guy I am least interested in. Feel like his production never really matched his athletic profile.
Best holds for me are Coleman and Breida.
Also, I think McKinnon's 2019 salary becomes guaranteed April 1st or late March. That is a date to watch for. He will cost about 250k (I think) MORE against the cap if they cut him, but they will save 3.7 million in cash. So I think it's a possibility

Re: Buy/Sell/Hold - 49ers backfield
If it were me,
Coleman: hold, sell for a 1, or buy for a 2.
Breida: hold, or sell for a 1.
McKinnon: hold, or sell for a 2.
If it does become a three-man rotation, that stinks, but one of them could still be a high-end fantasy RB2. If it ends up mostly a two-man rotation with one clear lead, a Shanahan backfield can very plausibly make the lead a low-end RB1 / high-end RB2, and the other guy a low-end RB2 / high-end RB3.
Shanahan's running-backs have a tendency to perform some of the best football of their careers. While this depth-chart probably nixes the possibility of a bellcow or feature-back, there's still probably gonna be desirable production here for fantasy.

Re: Buy/Sell/Hold - 49ers backfield
I don't own Coleman in any leagues. Most late firsts in that range are not going to be immediate starters unless it's a really deep class. 1.11 is a cheap price to pay for an RB that's definitely going to start and get RB2 volume at the least next season.thebeast wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 6:28 pmI think you guys are only holding because you paid more and are expecting more and hopeful.jetsfan5757 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 6:22 pmI agree I am holding Coleman at that priceCameron Giles wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 6:15 pm
I'd easily take Coleman over the 1.11 in a draft with no depth and limited talent. You're at least getting an RB2 with some RB1 upside against the right matchups. This backfield is a mess, but one thing is clear right now: Tevin Coleman is going to play a lot. They just signed him and he knows the offense.
It's really just a matter of who's gone (or sits) between McKinnon and Breida.
