He's the type of guy the Patriots would go after. He's got talent. Rivers just keys in on a couple reads and he isn't often the primary.

He's talented, but I'm just not sure he's going to go somewhere and have a much larger role than he already does. Might see a slight uptick in usage, but nothing that would excite me or cause me to think he'll put up WR2/3 numbers on a consistent basis. A 3rd seems pretty fair.

Here’s what I know, when put in a wr1 role he delivered. Maybe fitzy retires, Kirk moves to the slot and Tyrell is the number one for the cards next year. Lot of maybes but that’s all thirds are. I’ll hold.

TWill is a free agent next year. I coundn't move him for any 3rd. You are better off holding him over that.

I never understood why Tyrell Williams didn't earn a bigger role. His routes are good, he's pretty good at staying healthy, his separation has been top 5 in the NFL two years in a row. His advanced receiving metrics are pretty damn good too.
Feels like one of those guys who didn't get a fair shake for some reason.
Maybe he breaks out a super late age like Thielen. Just one of those scenarios that never added up in my mind.

I wouldn't give a 3rd for him.
Dynasty player since 2002.
I probably should have done something more productive with that time...

The past 2 seasons there have been too many weapons for him to have consistent targets. Rivers loves to spread the ball around.
In 2016 he had a primary role with Keenan being injured and had 70 catches, 1000+ yards and 7 TD's.
I think with the emergence of Mike Williams the Chargers let him go and he breaks out next year as a teams bonafide #2 WR. I'm buying where I can.

Ty Williams - 2019 Draft Pick Value?

Postby Mgfalk » Thu Oct 25, 2018 8:42 am

Thoughts on what I should be valuing Ty Williams for a 2019 draft pick. I want to sell high and think I can get a mid tier 2nd. Thoughts?
What player would you accept in return of Ty?

QB- Brees, Cousins,Trubisky
RB- Michel, Kerryon Johnson, Mack, Ronald Jones, McKinnon
WR- Allen, Diggs, Kupp, ARob, Ty Williams, Gallup, Reager, Tee Higgins
TE- Mark Andrews, Dissly, Graham

Picks-2021 1st and 3rd

Is this a sell high window? I am an owner and don’t think I could get a second and don’t know that I would take a mid/late second if offered one. I’m holding until we know where his home is next year. Reassess then.

Late 2nd. I think he's better than Mike Williams. *cue the laugh track* Williams for me is Kelvin Benjamin all over again.

I'm holding barring a wild overpay.
He's a good wide receiver who doesn't get the target share he deserves, I think an NFL team will recognize that and he will have value next season. I think he'll settle in as a more consistent WR2.

The gazelle (Tyrell Williams)

Postby Huh » Thu Feb 14, 2019 5:15 am

Tyrell Williams. Hes been brought up a bit around here and I went back and watched the tape and I really liked what I saw. Tall, with a decent build and speedy enough to split the safeties and take it to the house, he has many traits that a wr needs to succeed. His metrics have been very good though he had missed opportunities as far as a couple untimely drops. I find drops to be a bit overrated though so meh.

Unrestricted and free to sign where he pleases I really hope he lands in a favorable spot. One could say the chargers were a good place to be but with allen and the rbs soaking up so many targets and mike Williams and his draft capital, the targets never really were there.

It sounds like he wants wr1 money which would limit the teams that could sign him. If he is going for the money I could see the Browns, 49ers, or colts getting involved which for one reason or another could all be good for him. Please not the bills. I think in the right spot he has a flexy floor with upside. Anybody else interested? I think he is flying under the radar and it is probably time to buy if you are.
