I don't see it with Ridley. At least his brother was a high profile recruit (Riley wasn't) and despite being old was successful as a freshman (Riley wasn't). Riley didn't do anything in college until he was 22 years old. Some older WR prospects will have success, but they at least break out at a younger age, like Calvin Ridley or Cooper Kupp.

Put another way- as a 22 year old junior catching passess from Jake Fromm without much competition for targets, Riley Ridley managed all of 559 yards in 14 games.

My guess is that NE drafts Hart because the Grinch needs one.

2 guys have had sustained success with a breakout age over 21: Brandon Marshall and Micheal Thomas. Both had dominator ratings in college over 80%. If Ridley hits, he'll be the biggest outlier of the past decade+.

The stuff I was looking at focused more on active players, but you sir are absolutely correct. He was 21 on the nose.

Thomas also was a prospect seemingly designed in a lab to be undervalued by analytics. He played with multiple other NFL WRs, dampening his ability to secure a promising market share, he took a redshirt as a 20 year old sophomore, limiting his ability to have an early breakout age, and, most importantly, he got drafted by the Saints, which no pre-draft process will account for.

I don't like Riley Ridley, but if Indianapolis trades up for him and then moves on from TY Hilton the next year, I'll reconsider.

If Harry falls to me at 1.06, I will be elated.

If he falls to 1.06 odds are likely he either had a poor combine or landed in a perceived awful situation - but yeah neither of which should keep you from making that selection.

I should also clarify that all of my leagues are either 2QB or SF, so should Haskins, Murray, Lock all go in the 1st round, they could also cause a guy like Harry to fall.

Yes good point! In a SF, or other QB premium format that is a more likely target range depending on how the QBs play out.
