MFL glitch left Gurley in my lineup- what would you do?

Turco ish situation currently unfolding in one of my leagues. I had Todd Gurley in lineup as I was hopeful he would play. Around 230 central saw the news of Gurley out and I used my phone to put in Allen Robinson as he also has an afternoon game. I posted in group chat about the "Christmas gift" to my opponent of going against arob instead of Gurley

MFL messed up. Gurley was still in my lineup at kickoff somehow and I swear to it. This has happened 5 times this year in that league. Someone the settings aren't fully right and it's a known issue

I said my comment 45 minutes before kickoff and am saying that is the proof of my lineup (which is what commissioner said to have when the issues were going on mid season)

That’s a sucky situation to be in. If it’s an ongoing issue in the league and everyone is aware of it, I would certainly bring it up to the Commish and the league. Since it has happened before, and you have proof in the chat (with a time stamp I assume), then I would send out a league email saying that you meant to start Robinson over Gurley. It really should be obvious that you didn’t mean to start Gurley.

I see ppl say this a lot but do you guys actually check that your lineup is correct after you submit the new lineup. It's a known glitch by your own admission, it's kind of on you to check. If it was a chill league I wouldn't have any problem with adjusting the lineup though.

I've been on MFL for over 10 years and never once heard of this "glitch". Are you using the web site from your phone or are you using the third party app.

Yeah, this is my league’s fourth season on MFL and I’ve never seen any “glitches” of this sort, nor has any other owner mentioned anything like this. We did have one owner accidentally start James Jones instead of Julio a couple years ago because he was using an app. I don’t understand why anyone would use a third-party app not officially approved/sanctioned by MFL when the site runs perfectly fine on any smartphone browser.

Had the same issue several years ago using the phone app. Have to say I didn’t recheck the lineup afterward and didn’t notice until after kickoff so really didn’t have much of a complaint. I think if the group chat has timed stamped, that should work.

I highly recommend avoiding any apps for MFL - and accessing MFL directly via browser even if on phone or tablet. I've heard of this issue with the app(s), and heard about trade horror stories with the app(s) as well. I access MFL on my phone via web browser (Chrome) and no issues.

For the medium, it was browser on my phone. Chrome. No idea if our comish has some bad settings or what as it hasn't ever happened my other MFL league or last year with this league but has absolutely hit others through regular season and always a debacle. This was the first time I got bit by it

Totally get the people voting against me as well. It's a hell of a sticky situation and sucks all around. Comish decided to go my side since I talked in league chat about it (yes, with time) before the kickoff and the guy I'm against announced he's quiting the league and so is his son

I don't think you can make the switch like that. Really unfortunate for you, but the commissioner changing already active lineups is really tricky. If you were having trouble, it should've been brought up immediately.

There's also a chance it was just user error on your end or something with your phone.

I wouldn’t change it. Your responsibility to recheck your lineup and make sure it’s correct.

Usually MFL sends an email to both teams in a matchup of lineup changes. If I were running your league and you could show me that email, then that's the only way I would change the lineup. Otherwise, you likely had an error on the app and you're SOL.

Sets a bad precedent. The unscrupulous could leave one player in the lineup, make a chat post about starting another and then fight for whomever scores more. Not an issue since Gurley didn’t play but the actual lineup has to be the be all, end all imo.

Yeah, especially in the Finals, you have to check. I would have probably checked about half a dozen times with the finals on the line, to be honest.
