Playoff Debacle

In my league, a team was up 124.80 to 124.60 going into the "winning formation" sequence in last nights eagles game. Wentz proceeded to take 3 kneel downs, causing that team to lose .3 points, thus losing the game by .1. This also caused him a playoff spot.

Should I look to rectify this in offseason? Or them the breaks?

I feel that owner's pain that hurts, but the point calculations don't stop till the game is over.

Tough way to lose but I wouldn’t want to get into adjusting scoring

a kneel down week 13 same as a kneel down week 1. if there is a way to make it so a qb doesn't lose points on that you can address it in the off-season but for now gotta use the scoring you used all season.

Exactly. Say a tie breaker was being looked at for total points and it was that close. Are you going back through EVERY game to account for kneel downs?

That's really too bad for the one owner, but we play a game based on stats and a kneel is a stat

Yup, if you a adjust that then you can bring up the case of say a guy who should've scored but took one for the team and pulled up on the one yard line to keep possession and burn the clock, most likely wouldn't happen but its a can of worms that shouldn't be opened. For better or worse we play for the box score and whatever that records that's what you get

Unless the NFL stops counting those lost yards towards the QB's rushing totals, not sure why we should.

If you start manually taking out kneel downs, good luck going to every game tape and taking out those plays. Not a can of worms you want to open.

To be clear, I agree to not touch this. The team involved was whining, and I was looking for outside opinion. I appreciate all the feedback!
