Part of the reason Detroit lost today is because they wasted too many backfield touches on Blount, resulting in failed drives.

If Patricia wants to eat clock and control time of possession, he has no choice but to fade Blount and lean on KJ.

He's a better dart throw than a few RBs, but I'll be more excited later on in the season once Kerryon has truly established a three down role, right now feels a touch premature.

If I had to pick a date, I bet the Lions make Kerryon a three down back coming out of their bye week (week 6), that's usually when teams do the biggest adjustments.
Prophetic? Lions rush yardage this week their most since 1997, KJ gets 155 rush yards. People were dinging Johnson because the Lions "don't run" since Stafford joined the team.

He's been at least in my flex every week since Week 3. He's averaging around 15 touches a week since then, so he's a fantasy RB2 right now.

Riddick could also miss another week or two, and the fears that Abdullah would step into Riddick's role proved irrational (Abdullah doesn't do anything on passing-downs better than KJ). Johnson doesn't have a clearly bad match-up again until Week 10. I ain't saying "start him with confidence", but KJ should at least be in most 12-team+ roster's flex-slot.

In my hometown redraft PPR league, I think I'm going to look forward to keeping him for a 6th rounder next year.

Maddening.
About the same in GB with Jamaal the Jag and Aaron Jones

Jones: 32 carries for 188 yards
Jamaal: 59 carries for 224 yards

He's been really good. If Blount hadn't vultured TD's and Riddick wasn't locked into his passing role, his production would be even better. Part of me does wonder if Patricia is so stuck to the Belichick/McDaniels School of Thought that he'll use a committee of RB's long-term.

I really like some of his highlights from last week .. I may watch all the Lions games soon, just to watch him.

On every big play, the blocking was top notch. However, his burst is excellent. His decisiveness on his longest run of the day was impressive. I feel he's around 210 after a shower. I think they need to utilize him smartly, he is a little slight. Good looking player, though.

On every big play, the blocking was top notch. On every big play, the blocking was top notch.
He's been consistently evading deep backfield penetration whenever it happens to at least get back to the line of scrimmage, and in my opinion these plays are more impressive than runs like that 70 yarder last week. Lions O-line is finally competent this year, but still only middle of the pack in ALY.
I think they need to utilize him smartly, he is a little slight.
He breaks squared up tackle attempts and pushes piles. He throws down linebackers with one arm and knocks safeties out of the game at the goal-line.

It's rational to worry about his shoulder injury history, but there's nothing slight about Kerryon Johnson's power running.

Kerryon Johnson Value

Postby CK_ » Tue Nov 20, 2018 5:41 pm

Wanted to gauge where everyone valued Kerryon.

IMO he has looked great when on the field and hope that he starts getting goal line work next year.

Interested in everyone’s thoughts and opinions on him. Also adding a poll below on where he is valued.

WR: Diggs, C. Davis, Gordon, Lockett, M. Williams, Godwin, John Brown, Tre'Quan Smith

D/ST: Jax, Chiefs

He’s worth a high first for me. If I’m a RB-needy team and have the 1.01, I’d feel confident enough in giving that for him in a draft class that’s looking bleak RB-wise.

He passes the eye test, is currently RB15ish in a full point PPR as a rookie, and seems to have a solid weekly receiving floor on top of being good at running between the tackles thus far.

If you're buying, it's probably going to be an early first. He's looked really good this year and more opportunity should come next season.

I wouldnt give a top 3 pick for him personally. I believe those will increase greatly in value come draft time, but 1.04 and on, I would pay
