Guess that means there is a backup opening in Seattle also.

That was an expensive signing/mistake. Someone will for sure sign him as he is talented but has injury concerns.

And the GM signing him to that deal was... gettleman.

Is Tate his new Khalil?

Ryan Tannehill to the... Titans? Most confusing move of free agency thus far.

Well Mariota is not very good; so high quality backup or eventual starter if Mariota struggles.

Agreed, but I'm not seeing how why the Titans' staff would make the move. Mariota always misses a few games, Tannehill will step in and there will be a QB "conflict." Like a more mediocre version of what happened last year with Winston and Fitzmagic; those are situations where it's nearly impossible for the coaching staff to come out in a positive light.

Just seems like they're setting themselves up to jeopardize their job security next season.

Do you think they should sign a worse QB than Tannehill to avoid that QB playing well and causing a QB controversy? If I'm running a team, I sign the best QB I can to be the backup.
Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.

I don't think they should sign a worse QB, but I think it could be a better career move :)

Really, I think they either need to cut bait with Mariota or devote every possible resource to surrounding him everything that can maximize his success.

Huh? It makes perfect sense. May as well have a decent backup QB when you can just about guarantee that your starter is going to miss time.
