Lmao if you think anyone is forcing ab to do anything at this point. You have no idea what was said or what guarantees were or were not made either.Phaded wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2019 9:17 am The team apparently had him do the apology, and then after the apology fined him & voided the guarantees without saying this was going to happen. That's a shitty thing to do. Everyone will talk about AB but the Raiders handled this horrendously.

Re: Antonio Brown’s feets
Perhaps the miscalculation on the Raiders part when they initially acquired AB was they thought they could manage him the same way Tomlin & the Steelers did. By living with most of his antics, but trying to keep everything in house and not fining him (and actually collecting) for every (or any?) offense. AB skips practice? Cool, pull him aside and talk to him. AB blows up cool, handle it internally. As long as he balls out in real games.
Maybe initially the Raider's tried to give AB the same "southwest treatment" - not fining him for his extra baggage. Mayock said something in response to AB's "everybody going to pay" instagram post that seems to support this. Something about "we handle things internally, not thru social media" (paraphrase). Clearly something recently changed sharply with the multiple fines. Thought I read where the Raiders actually collected too?
Net: AB proving what used to work with the Steelers no longer works with the Raiders (or any team). Is this guy simply impossible to roster for any NFL team going forward? Even if it's likely at least 1 more will try at some point...

No, it isn't, IMO. Gruden has 100 million guaranteed, I don't think there is a power struggle. Perhaps Mayock convinced him, though. He respects Mike. Rosenhaus is an agent and has to do what's best for his client, including lie, so I don't trust what he says.Phaded wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2019 9:34 amDoes he though? It was talked about on NFL Network (I have had it on for the last two hours). Right now Drew Rosenhaus is live on a phone call, Drew did not explicitly say it but kind of hinted at it.

Re: Antonio Brown’s feets
Immediately after the press conference, Mayock handed him the letter and it was not at all communicated that this was coming. Reportedly, AB was under the impression that he would apologise and move on to play Monday. Mayock is a clown who needs to go back to the tv network.Dynasty DeLorean wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2019 9:35 amLmao if you think anyone is forcing ab to do anything at this point. Re: Antonio Brown’s feets
dang - Raiders released AB...
Re: Antonio Brown’s feets
Rosenhaus is not going to burn bridges with the Raiders and needs to be very careful of what he says; Trent Brown is also his client. So he's not going to explicitly criticize the Raiders but even hinting at it is huge. It was also reported pre-interview.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2019 9:37 amNo, it isn't, IMO. Re: Antonio Brown’s feets
That run run pass offense would be a wonderful landing spot.. lol
Re: Antonio Brown’s feets
So since he asked to be released does that mean he got cold feet?
Re: Antonio Brown’s feets
On the flip side.. Derek Carr is back to having nothing as receiving options.

Re: Antonio Brown’s feets
So this situation was actually highly logical on AB's end, following his irrational blow up moment. He apologized to the team (even if he didn't want to play for them at that point), so he at least saved face. Then he releases a video at night suggesting he always has wanted to be a part of the organization and wants to play.
Whether Friday's taking away of his guarantees was known in advance or he was shocked by it Friday, he released the video to go full nuclear and get Mayock fired or at least create dissension between Mayock and Gruden. He was never going to play without guarantees, so this at least means there will probably be a market for him somewhere.

Re: Antonio Brown’s feets
I'm going to disagree with this. I don't care how good of a player you are, you're not above the team. I wish they would have suspended him the 4 games instead though; probably would have sent a stronger message.ericanadian wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2019 9:30 amMayock’s in over his head. You don’t fine elite players for missing practice unless its just a ploy to get them back to the negotiating table.

Sometimes we forget that the Raiders are the Raiders. Somewhere along the way we somehow forgot or were led to believe they are not the villian in all situations.
