Michael Thomas Thread: Still a WR1?
Re: Michael Thomas: Arguably the #1 Dynasty Asset?
Call me crazy, but I think there is much more to this story than we are hearing publicly

Yea, it’s gotten way weird over last two plus seasons.

May now flip Chubb and Lockett for Zeke and a pick that would get me someone like Cooks/etienne. You like?

FWIW there was a little more smoke to the fire yesterday:
MT "liked" that tweet. Sounds as probable a story as any.I think the Saints urged Michael Thomas not get surgery last season in hopes to win a ring in Brees' last year.
Now they blame him for not being healthy.

I heard the opposite. I heard they recommended it. There are lots of tweets players "like", and even if he did, it doesn't mean it's factual. This is journalism in 2021. MT liked a tweet. I'm going to go out on a limb and say the head case WR was probably asked to get surgery, and tried to go the rehab route. All the way from coach to ownership has suggested that was the case.

That's what they want you to think! In reality, it could be either story. I tend to side with the players but MT is a bit of a drama queenFantasyFreak wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 3:11 pmI heard the opposite. I heard they recommended it. Doesn't add up. Why would they go out of their way to create a situation with him and intentionally lie and blame him, considering the huge contract and all the dead cap he holds still?Jigga94 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 3:15 pmThat's what they want you to think! That's my point. None of it really adds up either way.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 3:17 pmDoesn't add up. I think it adds up. I think he probably didn't want to get surgery, sought a second opinion that was more inclined to give rehab a try, did that, and it didn't work, bleep the report from NOLA.com suggested. He didn't get back to them when they inquired, found out that he had it late, and now they are pissed off about it.Jigga94 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 3:18 pmThat's my point. Heading down that path, combined with the OBJ injury track.

Re: Michael Thomas: Arguably the #1 Dynasty Asset?
From what I can gather, he gutted it out last season to help Brees finish his career. The Saints didn't like the narrative that came from his second opinion vastly disagreeing with the Saints staff about getting surgery. MT didn't like his commitment to the team getting questioned. This isn't going to end well. This is also based 100% on my interpretation.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 3:11 pm

What seems to be known is he didn't bother to show for his follow up appointment MONTHS ago. Of course the team is not happy as he should be healed up and in camp by now.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 3:25 pmI think it adds up. His moves look calculated and look very selfish. Can't imagine his teammates are too happy with him these days.

Except maybe Tre'Quan Smith, Marquez Callaway and Deonte Smith? I kid, but these guys are going to see more passes coming their way. One or more of them might end up getting paid down the road due to this situation.Ice wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 3:30 pm What seems to be known is he didn't bother to show for his follow up appointment MONTHS ago. Things between Thomas and the Saints seem to have fallen apart quickly though. Not sure if this is a fence they'll be able to mend.
