The pendulum may swing far enough, where he is a must buy. His ADP may fall to 75-90 (or worse), but next year he'll be a very startable WR.
Keeptradecut has him currently at WR38, ADP of 100 in non-SF Around the names of Aiyuk, Mooney, AB, Shenault and Terrace Marshall.

That doesn't surprise me. KTC rankings are the epitome of recency bias.

What? I know Aiyuk hasn't been the greatest, but I'd easily take him over MT at this point

Yes. He's damaged goods and past his prime. He's crossed the age threshold of value while simultaneously having a serious injury that he may never fully recover from, and he's a head case on top of it.

Any recent moves involving MT lately? He has played only a handful of games in the past two seasons, are we expecting him to come back and produce? Asking as an owner in a rebuild (16 team SF).

In a rebuild he's a sell for sure. If I was in a rebuild and could get a 2nd it'd be an easy sell. 3rd maybe not, unless my intention was to legally tank and hope for a better 2023 1st.

As a contender, I think id take that shot at a 2nd honestly. First I couldn't do. 3rd I'm buying no matter what

Michael Thomas value

Postby Dan49erFaithful » Tue Jan 25, 2022 5:24 pm

Curious where you guys are at with MT. He’s likely done in NO, especially now that Payton is out. He’s 28 (same as Kupp), so he certainly still has a few years left assuming he’s healthy. Wasn’t long ago that he had 150+ catches and yet I feel like no one wants to touch him. Where he lands next year will be critical, but I feel like there is still some serious upside here that people are ignoring.

How would you guys value him?

I have him in a rebuild and am waiting for clarity in his situation before looking to move him, but I’d like to hear your thoughts in general

Absolutely a screaming buy

Cheapest possible WR1 in 2022 you can get

I'm buying anywhere I have a contending team

I don't think he'll be a WR1. No Payton, no QB, and I don't think he's going to be the same after that injury. I've seen some FF doctors talking doom and gloom about it. They might be wrong, but I think the expectations on MT have to be lowered quite a bit. I see him as a buy if it's cheap enough, but I really have a tough time seeing WR1 numbers unless everything falls right, and there's a lot going wrong right now with him and his situation. If he's cut, that would be a huge win for him.
